Thank goodness for a man who has put his name and family on the line sacrificing much during the past 5 years of campaigning. He has character, integrity, morality, common and business sense, standards, believes in principles and God, and gives of himself and family for charity in all venues.

Hopefully, he will continue to move forward in the people's hearts and minds as they will decide in the next 11 days on who to vote for. I noticed that Colin Powell, a good man, has chosen the other side again. He was the top military person in the first Iraq war and a pretty good Secretary of State. He has his reasons for voting for the type of Department of State and Department of Defense this President has given us for the past 4-years. Voting is a personal event, even for a person of this type of stature.

He must be bitter, however, to vote for a person that has been negative about the military that Colin Powell had influenced as an officer and General for almost 40 years and the state department he ran. What a sad day to leave a legacy into Obama's hands.

Obama has character, integrity, morality, common and business sense, standards, believes in principles and God, and gives of himself and family for charity in all venues.

Colin Powell is right, he also had the inside on the bush WMD/war for profit, which must have left a horrible taste in his mouth.

"Romney will promise to revitalized economy in economic speech in Iowa"

How?

Romney is long on promises, very short on specifics.

When the President puts out his plan for the past four years to 3 million people 2 weeks before the election for his second term is short on his promise of 4 years ago when he promised HOPE and CHANGE. This man was not even there for the "3 a.m. call" when the Embassy/Consulate in Libya was needing help. Those were boots on the ground the President talks about. Those boots made the decision they needed help and requested it. The promises of this President only apply to Jay Leno and David Letterman, not to the common folk working for a living and putting their life on the line for the people and government of the United States of America. David Patreus and Leon Panetta, both have and have been CIA directors know the exact capability of their personnel and equipment. Panetta is the Secretary of Defense so has a more fine tuned ability to know what he has available in his world of defense and intelligence capability.

Those two men and Hillary would have let their boss know exactly what they needed in one second. This election is about an economy, integrity and defense of our people.

To Happy Valley Heretic:

Obama's: Character: Lying to the American people about the Assination of the U.S. Ambassador to Libya and 3 security Agents. Lying to us for 6 weeks now!

Obama's Integrity: Promising Hispanics Immigration Reform and then NOT offering any comprehensive plan! Promising 5.4 Percent UNEMPLOYMENT then NOT doing it! Promising Lower Taxes to the Middle Class then NOT doing it! Promising to help Small Business then NOT DOING IT!

Obama's Morality: Voting FOR PARTICAL BIRTH ABORTION! Voting to Allow Post Birth Death if the mother decides she wants the baby set aside(Illinois).

Obama's Business sense: When he has run nothing? Where not in America where he has added 6.1 Trillion dollars to the DEBT! Has had 1.1 Trillion dollar or greater DEFICITS EACH OF THE PAST 4 Years!

Obama's Belief in God: Questionable based on the Above Lies and the Hate filled pulpuit he listened to for 20 years!

Obama's Charity: Almost nothing until the past 1 1/2 years! Obama NEVER sent his Brother George NOT EVEN 20 Dollars though he lives in a hut!

Colin Powell didn't deny WMD while Secretary of State!

Precisely!

Why can't the "commoners" Republicans see this and figure it out? [AM radio perhpas?]

Powell was an insider, Commander of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Sec. of State, a REAL American, a REAL Patriot, a Republican -- and yet he turns his back and snubbs the GOP -- that should be telling!
He knows something but for the love of his country, he remains silent, but his actions allude to the foul stench of something bad.

"Heretic" If Obama possesses the character traits you claim, you should call him and ask him to use them.

"Bebyebe" How?
By encouraging private business growth rather than inhibiting it. But the first order of business is to replace the guy in the White House with someone who is familiar with creating private sector jobs.

"How? Romney is long on promises, very short on specifics."

The liberals are short on memory. Romney took over the 2002 Winter Olympic Games that were in serious financial and when they were over the was $100 million left in the bank.

How can he fix our economy? By using the economic principles. They work.

By your name you will be known.

Names are given to children by their parents that signify something good in the parent's lives. The name of an individual and what they are know by, can be a blessing to their family.

Again, we have choices, and Colin Powell, even though a good person, has chosen to vote for President Obama and has also let the world know that he has done that.

...and ROOTBEER in the all the drinking fountains!

BTW - is this sort of like old man Orrin Hatch's shallow, empty and broken promise of only running for 2 terms?

Let's sum this up!

Look at the passed four years. Lie's, deceit, spending our tax money for expensive vacations, while telling us to tighten our belts.

The record is there. Nuff said.

It is interesting that the President impacts on so many places and peoples of the world by his policies or lack of policies. However, the President, his pundits, campaingers, Democratic Party, politicians of that persuasion, the media of all types and people who can gain from his presidency are only attacking Mitt Romney. They are not mentioning or commenting on topics that the President has been involved with that are not helping the benefit of our country or even improving the world.

They only comment on small things that Mitt Romney does. They don't have substance or validity. They don't use the same type of measurement on President Obama. Bill Clinton may have been able to spin but as much as he tried he couldn't spin out of the Monica Lewinsky deal. His wife has stuck with him through thin and thick but Bill continues to make a lot of money and is helping Obama even when Hillary has been drug through this Libya controversy of her own free will and choice. She is mired and the President continues to thrive, sort of.

Bill Clinton does not emphathize or sympathize with people unless he can get gain.

What are you trying to say that baseball equipment was important to mitt's father and that baseball has been a blessing?

"Again, we have choices, and Colin Powell, even though a good person, has chosen to vote for President Obama and has also let the world know that he has done that."

And the world is thankful for what he has done.

You'd think we've been hit by bombs:

Obama--"We've got to fix our roads, bridges, and schools".

This rhetoric keeps coming up, and some people keep falling for it. We've spent a ton on schools, roads, and bridges, just to have the money funneled somewhere else. Why are Chinese companies doing the welding on our bridges?

Obama! Quit the spending. Gasoline taxes should be plenty for our roads, and bridges. We're spending twelve thousand dollars for each school student. Enough already!

@worf

"We've got to fix our roads, bridges, and schools".

Which Romney said the same thing in his major economic speech TODAY in Iowa.

You have a problem with The President of The United States of America saying we need to do this.

You have no problem with Which Romney saying the same thing.

Marvelous.

let's go back to using horses as our primary mode of transportaion and therefore we won't need as may bridges and crumbling roads. this is his plan: new roads, bridges and school teachers. the guy is a genius.

Romney will say and promise whatever he thnks it will take to get him elected, and to heck with what he really thinks about any subject. Don't like what he says now? Wait five minutes -- you might like it then. This is NOT what the country needs.

The headlines said Iowa but I didn't see specifically that he was in Iowa. The picture was of defiance, Ohio. I know who I want for president and bashing isn't worth it. Interesting that Iowa is considered a swing state as I don't live that far from the border and populalation wise we have more people.

Mark B
Eureka, CA

It's close polls, not population, that makes Iowa a swing state. For the record, Iowa has more people than either Nebraska or Utah.
