If Utah's economy was in the same sorry mess as California's or Detroit Mr. Cooke might have a chance. Unfortunately for him however it isn't.

Salt Lake County Mayor Peter Corroon went up against Gov. Herbert in the 2010 special governor's election. He only lost 2 to 1. Peter Cooke should do a little better.
I keep telling the Democrats that they need Obama to come to Utah and campaign for them. Why could that possibly hurt?
