ugh! that game still haunts me. dropped td pass, fumble on a walk in TD, ill
timed penalties, too many dropped passes to remember. Losing the TO margin kills
us. Still better than playing a MWC schedule though. The wins will come, you
gotta believe baby! Cubs fans have been doing it for like a hundred years,
hopefully we'll only have to wait a couple more.
Frustrating game to watch.I'm not delusional enough to say we're
a few bad calls or plays away from a winning record but I sure wish the dumb
penalties would stop.BTW Travis, You're doing well. Keep your
head up and keep throwing those darts. Go Utes!
Re: That's a good one"If Bronco had actually played a
decent quarterback against the Utes". Like who, Matt Barkley!?? He
doesn't have a decent QB to play. He ran him off to Kansas.
@Red"we would be no better than Pres. Obama letting Hillary Clinton
take the fall for Benghazi."I guess you missed the 2nd debate
when he took responsibility. There's no "letting clinton take the
Travis,I like the effort and the willingness to step up, but.....If we let you take the fall for that loss than we would be no better
than Pres. Obama letting Hillary Clinton take the fall for Benghazi. We are not that lame, so we are not going to let you do it.Hang in
there. It's a team sport. Here at Utah we win and lose together! We
played tough. It was great to watch and we didn't blood dope like Lance.
Hopefully we don't have anyone using steroids either.Let's
win with Class and Honor or lose trying our best. All you little
league players take note! Do your best. Play with Honor.Go Utes!
Correction..."you'd possibly be 1-6 now instead of 2-5". It
will still be a couple weeks before the possible 2-7.
Somebody need to show that to Bronco M. and Riley N.
I agree with the above posters. The Utes need their seniors to step up and make
plays. Travis has made a great deal of improvement but he is still a freshmen
and he needs the seniors to step up and make some plays for him. DeVonte had
the worst game of his career. He should have caught the ball he tipped and he
never should have dropped a pitch that hit him right in the hands on what should
have been a TD.There were a handful of plays that either the Utes
didn't make or mistakes that they did make that changed the outcome of this
game. Blechen has got to know not to lower his head when making a tackle.
Again it's the older guys on the team that need to step up.On a
positive note, they Utes have made a great deal of improvement and they were
finally moving the ball on a much more consistant basis. The play
calling was better however give the ball to either White or York on the 5 yard
line instead of run Wilson two times in a row - that was a bad call.Go Utes!
I shed tears when DeVonte Christopher botched the play on the 2 yard line.
Tears of laughter that is."Bunch of cheerleaders from girlsy
state" pays back Mr. trash tweet once again.Look on the bright
side Ute fans, if Bronco Mendenhall didn't have such a love affair with
Riley Nelson and had actually played a decent QB against the Utes you'd
possibly be 1-6 now instead of 2-7. You'd still be O-fer in the PAC though
so I know that's little consolation. And before you come back
with "scoreboard", "we beat you", "quest", "8 out of
11", "54-10", "1984 was almost 30 years ago", "Majerus
was a better coach than Roger Reid" etc., ya I got ya, BYU football is
almost as bad as the Utes this year.It isn't the Rose Bowl like
we've been "marking it down" the past 2 seasons but happy battling
with WSU and CU for the PAC basement anyway.
Clearly NOT his fault. There were 2 plays that would have changed the
outcome of this game.John White not making the catch in the open
field with 80 yards wide open in front of him.Christopher fumbling on the
2 with a TD in front of him. One of the most frustrating games I
have ever witnessed.
Good trait to see in a QB, and if it were me I'd take the same approach.
But since it's not me, I can tell him that it's clearly not his fault.
As a former receiver, the rule is if you can touch it you can catch it. The
first INT came in a little high and fast, but no receiver with any sense of
pride would ever say "I couldn't catch it, he threw it to me too
hard." The fumble on the end around was clearly D. Chris's fault as
well. Those two plays alone constitute at least a 14 point swing. Keep your head
up and keep slingin it, Travis!
