If marriage is, as the author asserts in the article, all about supporting the children that come from it and that men and women are not interchangeable in a marriage, then let's make marriage irrevocable and permanent between a man and a woman. Otherwise, all the importancethe author places on the presence of both parents in a heterosexual marriage is meaningless because so many straight marriages fail. There's no way I'd believe a gay marriage is by design an inferior environment than a single parent one.
