It's a cynical statement to make, but the only reason any non-partisan voter has for voting for Mitt Romney is the fact that the Republican Party has so disrupted and worked to make the Obama administration ineffectual that nothing will get done if Obama wins the election and the Republicans either keep control of the House or a supermajority is not achieved by Democrats in the Senate.
The strategy of Republicans to, not only not cooperate but to actively work to make Obama fail, has been a disappointment to many. Perhaps this is their objective when they don't hold the reins of power. If there is not a Republican president residing in the White House, then nothing will get done. Republicans even appear to extend the president's ineffectiveness by doing whatever can be done to make the lives of the American people worse off. In this way they hope American voters will just give in and give Republicans the White House, and hopefully both the Senate and the House of Representatives.
It is really sad to give up in this way, but Republicans have enjoyed success by making things as painful as they can.
Salsa Libre,
Have you considered that Republicans want Obama to fail because they want America to succeed? Democrats have said that they don't want to return to the policies that put us in this mess in the first place, and Republicans and voters are in complete agreement! That's why they took control of the House away from Democrats and Miss "We need to pass it so we can find out what's in it".
