Article should read, "BYU falls victim to Riley Nelson at QB"!

Hey Byu?? Try worrying about playing solid football before pulling out new black uni's and painting the end zone black. Just stick to blue and white, you know tradition?? and try putting a team on the field that can compete with anyone outside of cupcake city please.

Hey Bleed Crimson...when Colorado beats you again this year are you still going to make your bold posts...??? Considering you beat us by 3 and we handed you turnovers...what does that say for your mighty crimson clad utes...???

Why is BYU afraid to schedule Colorado?
There seems to be plenty of room on future schedules for the kitty cats.

Fact of the matter is that BYU is afraid to schedule the Buffs.
Colorado is 3-8-1 all time against BYU.

OUCH!

The problems are two fold.

One.

BYU has had very bad O-line coaching now for over two years. The QB has no time to go through his reads. Weber has to go.

Two.

NO offensive scheme that can seriously move the ball. Nor a QB that effectively passes the ball. As a result BYU is easy to defend.

short passes and even shorter runs does not get the job done.

Here is the real tale of the tape:

Oregon 6 plays 75 yards to score a TD.
BYU 12 plays and 30 yards.

If BYU can not average atleast 12 yards a pass completion then the offense struggles. (And horrible at under 10)

BYU needs a stronger armed QB and better Oline and offensive scheme that takes advantage of the players BYU can recruit.

IN other words, the riley nelson experiment should be over, and doman should be out.

BYU isn't running team,
BYU isn't an option team.
They are a passing team.

As Coach Edwards knew, success will only come with a sophisticated passing game with good experienced players, not a bad o-line, weak-armed QB and disheartened pass-catchers and poor OC.

Really? BYU shying away from Colorado. Typical Ute fan making stuff up to feel better about himself and his miserable team.

Utes are not holding much of advantage over BYU when it comes to Colorado. So I went a little further and dug deep to get these PAC12 records for you.

Utah is 24-31-3 against the Buffs. They own you, in fact they curb stomped you last year denying the Utes a division title and a shot at the conference title.

Utah is 3-8 against USC. They own you.
Utah is 2-9 against UCLA. They own you.
Utah is 6-18 against ASU. They own you.
Utah is 3-5 against CAL. They own you.
Utah is 8-18 against OR. They own you.
Utah is 6-9-1 against OSU. They own you.
Utah is 0-7 against WA. They own you... big time.
Utah is 2-2 against Stanford.
Utah is 6-5 against WSU. Big whoop.
Utah is 20-15-2 against AZ. Big whoop.

Historically 0-3 right now should be considered par for the Utes in their mighty conference.

BYU shying away from Colorado... laughable.

Oregon State is a top ten team and they showed it Saturday afternoon. BYU played a good
game both offensively and defensively. The speed and defense of OSU was enough to overcome a blackout & enthusiastic capacity crowd. BYU was ready to play smashmouth football.Brandon Doman's offense and Bronco Mendenhall's defense kept it close going into the 4th quarter. Then a better team Oregon State prevailed on a pick six and stout defense the margin of error for BYU was just too slim. Next up another top ten team Notre Dame.

@ BYU fans making excuses: OSU's QB is a back-up, playing in his first career start, and you could not put any pressure on him. Player of the game, IMO.

@SammyG....Since you are listing the Utes all time record against other teams. Will you please post where the Utah and BYU series is at for us?

As far as this game Reily continues to make critical mistakes. However I think it was the highly overrated defense that cost the cougies this game. Oregon St. top 10 however I think we all know they will end nowhere near that come the end of the year. Cougies had them at home with back up QB, back up RB and were still lit up. All we heard before the game was how this was the greatest cougie defense ever. It may be the best cougie D ever but was definitley overrated for just how good. Vanoy and 47 make that D what it is without those two on the feild Oregon St scores 70+.

One poster mentioned this already just want to agree. The cheap shot by Olgatree on the back up QB was un-called for. IMO he should be suspended pretty heavily for this once reviewed by the NCAA. There is no place in football for taking cheap shots like this and risking bad injuries to other players.

You should know the answer to your question but here it is... BYU vs Utah is not relevant to this discussion between me and WacPaddledMyUtes.

So if you want to thump your chest about the leather helmet days go ahead. No one cares, anything can happen at these games. USU beat you a few weeks ago, BYU beats USU. Moving on...

This discussion was about why BYU is shying away from Colorado after BYU is 3-8-1 against them. A total out and out fabrication.

BYU plays any team, any time it can be worked out. Why WacPaddledMyUtes would bring up such a dumb idea beyond comprehension. Laughable as I kindly said.

So the fact remains that 8 out of 11 teams in the PAC12 thump the Utes more times than not. Washington every time, and even the so called bottom dweller Colorado has a nice edge against the Utes.

0-3 is about right for Ute averages against PAC opponents.

Would a chart or picture make this easier to comprehend?
