Courageous Democrats would admit that significant parts of the budget have to be cut. Courageous Republicans would admit that tax increases are necessary. Together they could compromise and come up with an alternative to the looming fiscal cliff.
Unfortunately none of the above made it past their respective party primaries.
Our last hope is to convert a few partisans to care more about their nation than their reelections.

Courageous Republicans believe that until our government stops flushing our hard earned money down the toilet they don't deserve the money they've already got.
Giving more money to the federal government is no different than giving more booze to an alcoholic in hopes it will cure his drinking problem.
