Hooker was a great high school player, and one I had been reading about his recruiting process for a few months before his commitment. I figured it wouldn't take long for him to get on the field, and figure it won't be much longer before he is a mainstay on the defense. He had a decent game against the toughest team on the schedule this year, and I even saw him stick his nose in trying to mess up blocking schemes, something that takes guts for any linebacker, let alone a freshman in that situation. Excited about his future at Utah.
I thought the mighty Utes had a stable of pac 10.2 LBS ready to go at the outset of the season. Why, then, did they have to burn a redshirt 5 games into the season? I guess it is painful to be the pac 10.2 doormat.

not as painful as being a fan of a team that is nothing playing for nothing,

What are the "mighty" weak Utes playing for... to finish ahead of WSU and Colorado for the PAC 10.2 cellar? The Utes will have to get lucky just to qualify for a bowl this season.
Jealous U and BHC, quit being such haters! I'm sure you have more to life than posting on Ute articles. I can't standby BYU, but I'm not going to go over to their site and waste my time. You all must have a lot of time to waste. Trust me, its not worth the effort.
Broom Hockey Champ:
It must be extremely painful to be unwanted by ANY relevant conferences except the WAC, and suffering through your 8th defeat to the team that has owned you over the last dozen years.
Mid-majorey little brothers forever.
Man Utah needs this young LB (Hooker) to mature fast. Hopefully as his body and mind grow, he will be a special player for Utah. He surprised many at USC. The coach Whitt has a good eye for talent.
