More evidence that "Obamacare" is a bad law". Businesses are scared
of it because it came with a whole bunch of tax increases that no body wanted.
How do Health Insurance Companies deal with tax increases on their services?
They pass it on to their consumers, and this results in higher premiums. Of
course there will be health exchanges set up by the Federal Gov't which
will offer cheap plans that will give you only what the government is willing to
pay for. Companies will start cutting health insurance all together and the
only option will be the Federal Government. The movie "Obama 2016"
shows that Pres. Obama wants these programs not for American but to carry out
the dream of his Socialist father who couldn't full his own dreams of
Socialism in his native Kenya.
What I REALLY think is that the bosses are supposed to be paid more because of
their ability to raise the value of whatever's being sold, because
it's CONSUMERS, not investors who "create jobs". Anybody can cut
hours and staff.
To "My2Cents" and how much business would those companies lose by
eliminating credit/debt card transactions? They should look more to the Maveric
gas stations as a model. There you get a discount if you use cash.
Mark B,yeah, and if guns did not shoot them at such a high velocity,
bullets wouldn't hurt that much, either.when sales are
stagnating, do you REALLY think it is a good idea to raise prices? If
sales are stagnating, do you REALLY think there are raises to go around?short-change the investors, and they will not create the jobs for the
hostesses,servers, bus-boys, dish-washers, etc.You can "if
this... or if that" till the cows come home, but the truth of the matter is
Obamcare has created a burden on this group of working poor by effectively
robbing them of 25% of their hours and 25% of their income as a result.
I don't suppose the geniuses in charge ever considered that they would save
money on training and extra turnover by simply including benefits for full time
employees. OR they could have raised the price of a plate of spaghetti by 50
cents or so. OR is it possible that someone in a boardroom could have said
"You know, we got the last 10 raises. Maybe it's time for the people
who actually do the work of serving the customer to get something"? Nah, not
in MY lifetime.
My2Cents,it's still difficult, but easier, to make some money working
40 hours per week for tips and "tip credit wage" than it is working only
30 hours per week. So what is the effect of Obamacare on these employees? They
still get no employer provided insurance AND their hours are cut 25%. It's
a losing proposition. They MIGHT get expanded medicaid, but they lose 25% of
their income to get it. BO has definitely damaged these lower paid workers. So
much for the idea dems help the working class!you really think card
services add 15-20% in costs? You need to check your source of information.
Terms, conditions, and exceptions are always the scape goat for business and
corporate America that are built in as safe guards for a select few when laws
and programs are written or created. It's an obvious move and
not to be unexpected to cut labor costs any way they can. Most likely these
workers aren't paid a salary or wage either and work for tips only wages.
When ever an economy takes a down turn, cutting labor is the first step to
profit for a business. They don't see financial banking overhead as
excessive costs, its always the workers. If many business would get
rid of credit and debit card services they could make an additional 15-20%
profit but being mathematically illiterate they don't see that as a threat
to doing business. Cash and carry business and restaurants are yet to be
discovered, but once the cash is realized it will be the greatest improvement to
the economy and its recovery and workers will become asset rather than a
