"What I said was, 'I would have done the same thing,' " Spencer Hadley said. "The kid's punching his throat. I didn't think it deserved a flag. He just pushed him, he didn't knock him over. He didn't punch him or anything. There's plenty of pushing that goes on during the game. I would have done the same thing. He just beat me to it."
This was a costly penalty that killed an important drive. But it seems Bronco has nurtured a culture that condones this kind of behavior. It is possible to be tough and play clean. Let the other team make those kind of mistakes. There is no room for that kind of garbage on BYU. I am really disappointed that a coach wasn't completely in his face over that knuckleheaded behavior.
