John Dougall has a lot of well-deserved endorsements. Me too! I wear his green T-shirt ("Frugal Douball") as a night shirt. Now THAT is an endorsement! (I know this may be funny, but he would do a seriously great job as our state auditor. He really does have my vote and endorsement.)
John Dougall is just scary - has his own agenda (as seen during his years as legislator), really extreme - attitudes & actions that are yery much like a libertarian rather than a republican, and clearly does not have the training (he's an Engineer rather than an accountant).
IF ELECTED, the auditor's budget will likely skyrocket as he investigates everything from UDOT to the State Office of Ed, to the Utah Department of Health and the list will go on and on . . . and like his time as a legislator, Dougall will claim " my constituents brought these concerns to me" . . . Yeah right. While claiming to be "frugal Dougall" with his cutesy campaign in the primaries, a more accurate and telling slogan now would be "Dougall for state auditor - I report to no one, I'm accountable to no one, and I'll investigate any one or any thing I want to!
John Dougall is the current Vice Chair if the executive appropriations committee dealing with a $13 Billion dollar budget. He has an MBA as well as an Engineer and is is one of the few I would trust with $13 Billion Dollars.
I hope he wins and look forward to seeing what he finds to safe taxpayers money.
