If BYU can win 2 of the next 3, finishing 9-3 is a strong possibility? Yeah, but it won't happen. They struggled against a Utah team that will be lucky to finish 5-5, and against USU at home. They will do well to finish 7-5, best case. Good defense, abysmal offense, and outside of punting, a dead awful kicking game. The problem is the coaching.

Your obviously worst bit of prognostication was utah. BYU and USU can both still hit your marks although I don't think it is probable for either to do so. But I never understood the hype for utah, they had so many glaring holes all over the place. Terrible qb's, all new oline, no LB's at all. It just seemed to be the most overhyped team in the history of this state and that thought is baring itself out.

And yet that Utah team that you think is sooooo bad still beat byu this year. Even without John White and Eric Rowe. If you think Utah is so bad, you probably think byu is one of the worst teams in the nation, right?

The most overhyped team in the history of this state, in your opinion, still beat byu.

It's all good. The utes made it to the Rose Bowl, just like they have been talking about for two years. Good luck with UCLA, guys!

@kh

You were one of the one's predicting pac 12 championship and rose bowl. Now you're bitter. I understand.

Randy, San Jose and La Tech are both very good. Both games are on the road. 10-2 would be a huge achievement. Anything less then 8-4 is disappointing. Our defense will give us a shot but we better get our offense scoring points.

Can't believe I just said 8-4 season would be a disappointing?

As usual for bitter Utah fans, it's ALWAYS about BYU.

The reality is, Utah fans couldn't care less how the Utes do in the conference or overall, as long as the Utes somehow manage to beat the Cougars.

btw, the latest PAC-12 power rankings have Utah ranked 10th, just ahead of Colorado and Washington St.

------------

BYU winning 2 of 3 versus Oregon St, at Notre Dame, and at Georgia Tech is very possible. Oregon St and Georgia Tech a very winnable games, and even with a probably loss at Notre Dame, the Cougars still have a decent chance of finishing 10-3 with a bowl win.

Utah, on the other hand, played their bowl game at home on September 15th.

dito to KH's statement. I still am so confused as to why you comment on every article about Utah, when they beat your Cougs. Shouldn't you be in hibernation waiting for next years game in hopes that you could maybe, possibly somehow win after 4 years?

@ute"fan"7

This article is about all of the schools, not just utah. And why should I "be in hibernation"? Because you don't want me making comments is why. You don't like someone that points out the obvious delusion and hypocrisy of utah "fans" like yourself. So your answer, which is the typical leftist/lib utah "fan" answer, is for me to shut up and go away because you don't like my free speech.

So does this 4 year ban you think I should put myself on take basketball into account? You know the sport BYU has pounded, embarrassed, humiliated, and just plain beaten utah down, in like 12 out of the last 13 times? Am I allowed to post on those articles while you are forcibly banned from them? Of course no utah "fan" posts on those anyway, they're to humiliated to do it, and I understand why, utah's overall athletics are aweful. Just the way it is.

This year's Utah team is the most over-hyped team in the history of the state; with the exception of every single BYU team since 1985. I don't know how, but over every summer BYU fans always seem to convince themselves that the Cougars will be playing for the national championship.

@Duckhunter
First, this article has nothing to do with basketball, So why you bring that up who knows. Second, normally after your team gets beat by another team, you don't go off blowing your horn at that team, because that just makes you look bad and your team even worse. You can go ahead and point out all our flaws, but at the end of the day, our flawed and weak team you love to talk about beat yours. I never said you couldn't post on here or didn't have free speech, I'm just saying it would probably be smart on your behalf to keep quiet until you actually beat us, so you don't keep embarrassing yourself and your fan-base.

@utefan7

Hate to break the news to you but there is no embarrassment coming from me or the BYU fanbase. What this is all about is utah "fans" like yourself that like to dish it but cannot take it. Nothing new about that.

You are proving his point. Utah fans don't like to post about basketball, because BYU has a very obvious "scoreboard" to point to. His question is, why don't BYU fans do the same thing with football? You have been pounded, embarrassed, humiliated, and just plain beaten down in football, but still talk trash. It is pathetic.

As for the article. Don't beat yourself up over it. Nobody respects the sports writers in Salt Lake anyway.
