This is actually starting to look like it should. Obviously the pre season rankings were more undeserved hype than substance.

Not too many locals ever believed the Utes had it in them to do any better than last year. Yeah, maybe those two games could have gone differently but by the time December rolls around, your head will be your hands and the Utes will have that 4-5 or worse conference record.

You poor team is about to begin its second leg of a beat down marathon.

Hold on to that BYU 'bowl game' victory, it will once again be your signature win of another glorious, less than mediocre season.

We may not have called BYU's record at this juncture but we were all aware that it could be 2-2. utah "fans" were the ones delusionally claiming this year was going to be "special", that utah is going to the rose bowl, that utah would win the south, that utah would blow BYU out like the previous year, that USU and BYU were just warmup games that would be automatic wins, that utah has the greatest offensive line, greatest wr's, greatest rb's, greatest defensive backs, greatest coaches, greatest recruiting, greatest everything that this state has ever seen. Of course the truth is far from any of that but those are the claims utah "fans" were making coming into this season.

Many of us knew they were not going to be very good and pointed out why, mainly the oline would not be good and utah's qb's are terrible. We pointed out that the lb's were not very good either. Of course you hated to be told that but we were correct.

Sorry, but beating BYU is not anyone's signature win. Hasn't been since the 1990s.
