What a cool opportunity for Jordan. Plenty of things to work on this week, John White knows one thing he needs to do better, hopefully the other ten starters and the guys behind them all know do, too.

Chris B are you sleeping? You haven't posted yet on how your Utes will prepare to beat USC. Where are you?

It's going to be a long season. The offensive line might be fixed (I doubt it). Jon White IV is not right, and his ankle won't be all year. John Hays is better this year, but he won't be able to be a game manager behind a solid defense because the PAC 12 has more offensive fire power this season. Thus, Utah will be playing from behind and need to put up points.

The defensive line is everything as advertised, but the linebackers, who many felt would slide right in and be effective are stinking it up. Whittingham and Sitake have always coached up the blue collar type of linebacker, but this years group looks like duds. The secondary is not the usual group Utah has. The man coverage stuff Utah is known for has been sketchy and the Utes have gone into some zone because of it. Eric Rowe needs to get healthy and Brian Blechen needs to shake off the rust. Ryan Lacy will get better with more playing time. As for the linebackers, if they don't shorten the rotation and get production, Utah is done. Offense is weak, defense has to dominate.

I think the coaching staff has to take a lot more responsibility for this loss. The Utes simply weren't ready to play. If, by the fourth game, you realize that your offense can't run block-some coaches have been known to change things up. Spread things out. Throw in more wrinkles to hide the run blocking inadequacies of the line. Brian Johnson has beat a dead horse for four games now. It's time to try something that might result in creating some semblance of an offense. The defense simply played terribly. The entire team seemed more interested in their new uni's than in knocking heads on the road.
This is all quite disturbing, as we were rumored to have Pac 12 talent on this team outside of Star Lotouleilei and Trevor Reilly.

I still feel like the Utes can bounce back and pull out four more wins. i would be ok with the new mexico bowl this season.

Will Chris and Kyle try to get Arizona St. off their schedule?

"i would be ok with the new mexico bowl this season."

Well you might not have a choice but if I were to choose a bowl game for the Utes if they qualify... this would give me and all of CougarNation the most miles and satisfaction.

But lest we forget... beggars can't be choosers.
