Go Mia, you are a breath of fresh air on the political scene.

George Will, as usual, is totally wrong. At least, with this article, I got a good laugh to start the day.

It would be unfortunate if Utahn's were to dim the rising star. Vote for Mia, vote for a new
day and not the same old failed representation of the past.

Mia may be a star, but I predict that she, like the Tea Party, will be a shooting star.

"On her father's wages as a janitor and a factory worker and her mother's as a housekeeper, she got through the University of Hartford."

No, those federally subsidized and guaranteed student loans that she took out allowed her to get through her university studies.

What's "new" about her?

Her anti-government views and hostility towards Democrats is something I've seen from the Tea Party for years. He scare tactics and hypocrisy (wants to end student sub loans while taking them out herself when she was in college) goes back to even before the Bush administration (which "hated" the government yet expanded it greatly).

Funny...

Will says Love is not African American, even though she was born in New York of Haitian Parents who are of African Descent.

And Yet Obama, born in Hawaii, to a Kenyan Father and a White Mother from Kansas, is an African American?

And people still think that Hispanincs are a race and not an ethnicity.
And that there are no White Hispanincs......
Which 70% of them actually consider themselves to be....

Can we dispense with the categories once and for all.....Please?

Ms. Love is no Conservative. She has aggressively pursued fed funding for her city, has substantialy increased taxes, and even gave herself a big raise. Why don't people look at what she actually does rather than simply listen to what she says?

Mia will have a tough ride, because (1) like all other conservatives, she'll be battling the "main stream" socialistic media every step of the way, (2) she'll be dealing with opposition from bought misinformation funded by the nationally funded politically machines, and (3) while the voters in Utah SAY they don't believe in career politicians, the evidence would often strongly suggest otherwise. It's always hard to battle a well-funded incumbent who has the all the government resources at disposal plus national support from his his party, but Utah will have a real chance to dramatically change the road to nowhere we're on now.

"On her father's wages as a janitor and a factory worker and her mother's as a housekeeper, she got through the University of Hartford."

This statement is bogus --
It shoudl be BECAUSE of her father's wages....

She qualified for Financial Aid - a BIG Government porgram to assist the under- privelidged.
Not to mention the "Minority" status of Affirmative Action.
She no doubt had a free ride and then some.

BTW -- "Liberal" programs.

Typical Tea Partier --
Kill Government spending, just not MY Government spending.

Victim, excuse right away?

"Nationally funded politically machines" like the ones the GOP is running against Matheson?

"while the voters in Utah SAY they don't believe in career politicians,

You mean Like How Utah has both Parties "Conservative & Republican."

Interesting: the venom spewed by OWS supporters/tea party haters - with no sense of irony or shame

I will take the Tea Party over OWS any day of the week

" — imagine Utah's growth if the federal government did not own 58 percent of the land."

My imagination says there would be growth beyond ten chickens in every pot if only "the federal government did not own 58 percent" of Utah. Every problem in California would be solved if the Federal government would give up the ownership of 49.9 percent of that state.
