@motorbikeWell the cute uniforms might help recruiting, maybe, but I
highly doubt the product utah is putting on the field, you know them more
important thing, is helping recruiting at all. And based on utah's commits
thus far it is pretty obvious. Just a question, why hasn't the younger
lotuleili committed yet?
2 bits,The Utes are 3-1 in blackout games. One was a huge win over
TCU propelling us to the Sugar Bowl. One was a blowout to TCU when they were
ranked 3rd in the country and we were 5th. The other two were wins over Wyoming
and Oregon State. In 2010 at least part of the jersey cost was taken on by
under armour. The uniforms were created to bring awareness to the fallen warrior
organization - great cause and worth the extra dollars spent. The other
years were most likely entirely financially taken care of by the UofU athletic
budget. I agree, when they're only used for one game then it seems a little
silly. That said, Utah wore different combinations for several games last year
and plan to do the same this year.To compete in recruiting these days you
simply have to have the bells and whistles ... I'm glad Utah is playing the
game, the players love this stuff.
@2 bitsUnder Amour provides the uniforms in exchange for free
advertising and revenue dollars from merchandise. Also, Utah is 3-1
when wearing black. The one loss was to TCU in its Rose Bowl season.
Maybe I'm just anti-change, but it seems like we debut new uniforms for a
game (the pink uni's, camo uni's, etc)... we come out and play flat
and get our buts kicked. What I'm wondering is... were does the
football team get the money to buy these one-game-uniforms like the camo
uniforms for armed forces day, pink for cancer awareness, etc?
Pendergast, the black won't absorb sunlight when the sun is down. Another
of the brilliant realizations of discovering the world to be round.
@ PendergastThe game kicks off at 8 p.m. and the jersey will still
@ danielbdThe war kittens were clad primarily in white when they
played the Utes and Boise and look at the results.
Wearing black in Tempe this time of year? Really? Its not exactly
brillliant, but, hopefully it counteracts the awful yellow Az St sports.
@danielbdUmmmmm you know the cougs are doing their first black out
game this year right? They're just a few years behind. The
Ute's new jerseys are awesome.
This just confirms what we already knew, the utes have joined the dark side, now
it is even easier to see who the good guys and bad guys are in this state.
You guys are correct. It's the white logo to go with the white jerseys and
black pants. It's a pretty cool look and I love that the U is finally
playing the game when it comes to more combinations for the players. Recruits
these days care about this stuff, regardless of how trivial it may seem.
Two For Flinching, I think you're right. The picture I saw from someone the
other day did have a white logo.
I bet it's black w/ white drum and feather against ASU.
This growing fascination with the use black color is getting far afield of the
raditional Ute's red and white.
