Yo, the game is not "tonight" it is tomorrow night.
Hamon is way too generous with giving BYU a 24-21 loss to Boise State. Even though this is a rebuilding year for the Broncos, they are going to beat BYU by two or more touchdowns. I give the game to Boise State against BYU 28-7. This is coming from a Cougar fan who realized how horrible BYU's offense happens to be after Saturday's game. The game might be closer if Hall or Lark steps in for the Cougars as QB.
why wait? Nelson is a joke. BYU will never have a decent QB until they get a clean sweep of the coaching staff.
If Nelson goes down, I imagine they will go with the game plan they've talked about. Lark will start and Hill will continue to build his role. He won't be an all down quarterback this year.
Here's my prediction. Sorry to say Boise State 45 BYU 14
I highly doubt BYU fans will ever see an offense again like they were used to from 1975 - 2010 with a QB that was a drop back pocket passer. Doman and Bronco have gone away from the old offense and have adopted this new run and scramble thing instead. The QB's they are getting now are small in stature and mobile but aren't traditional BYU QB's.
It's obvious the offense is the liability for BYU. I wish Bronco would be as tough on the other side of the ball he's responsible for as he is on the defense. Lark should start, not Hill. Hill should get some PT, but not every down. It's tough to have faith in the team winning games against good opponents when the offense gives the opposing defense scoring opportunities. If BYU doesn't turn the ball over, they win.
@patriot
Jim McMahon, Steve Young, Ty Detmer, John Beck, and Max Hall, were all "small in stature". If you want to try to prove a point at least make sure you know what you're talking about. As usual you have proven that you don't.
The quarterback who gives the best chance to win the next game should be the starter.
When the pundits were predicting a one or two loss season, my response was, yes by 1 October. Riley may be gutsy, but his play against the Utes was worse than bad. Outside the last pass to Hoffman, it was terrible. It's time to move to the future and play Hill, at least, he must play much more than he has to this point. Maybe the whooping they take tonight will force a change now rather than later. Without a down field passing game, the running game is hamstrung.
I didn't realize Dick Harmon was allowed to say such things about BYU players. Completely shocking that he predicted Utah to lose.
