"In 1980, about 30 percent of Americans received some form of government benefits. Today, as Nicholas Eberstadt of the American Enterprise Institute has pointed out, "about 49 percent do".


The proper way to reverse this is to distribute income properly in the first place. A society where 1% of the population takes 1/3 of all income is not a society with proper distrubiton. A society where the average CEO of a company takes 500 times what their workers do is not proper distribution of income.

Since 1980, this has gotten worse. If we are going to talk about one side of the coin, lets not forget the other side of the coin. It is not proper to dispose of one side of the coin without also disposing the other side. Once income is distributed properly in the first place, the governmental need to redistribute income will be reduced.
