Agreed this is going to be painful. I accept differences of opinion, and actually think if there is anything that has shaped America it would be that diversity of thought and the processes that allow these different approaches to work together..but this morning listening to someone from the Romney campaign describe Romneys comments last week as "a strong stand on international policy" made me ill. I would love to sit down with a David Brooks, George Will, heck even Bill Kristol, Peggy Noonan, or Grover Nordquist and talk policies, but to consider a lie about the President made in the middle of a national emergency a strong stance on international policy is beyond a difference of opinion. Such a position is weak, pathetic, and dangerous. All hat and no cowboy.
The real "disgrace" in these events is the massive intelligence organization failure that was unable (as far as we know) to pick up prior warning of the two coordinated attacks on our diplomats in Libya and Egypt. Why wasn't it obvious to U.S. intelligence personnel that on the eleventh anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, that the security of our Middle East consulates should be strengthened and our people put on alert?
Instead, we bicker about which political candidate made the bigger gaffe. Despicable.
When Romney's elected, Muslims will become our friends.
The statement that led to Romney's response:
"The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims—as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions,"
Romney's response:
"The Obama administration's first response was not to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions, but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks,"
The Embasy's twitter account said:
"this morning's condemnation ... still stands."
On September 12th Romney said:
"I also believe the administration was wrong to stand by a statement sympathizing with those who had breached our embassy in Egypt, instead of condemning their actions. It’s never too early for the United States government to condemn attacks on Americans and to defend our values."
-----
Read the series of statements that Obama made and then tell us that Obama DID NOT sympathize with those who attacked the Embassy. The Embassy is American soil. WE WERE ATTACKED and Obama stood there confused about what his DUTY is to protect and defend American soil.
He would make a great side kick for Hannity. They could shoot fro, the hip all day every day yelling at everything.
Have I re-entered the Twilight Zone? Is this the DN I'm reading?
Anyone remember the Bush administration?
Yep.
If you want a third term for Bush, vote Romney.
This letter does a spectacular job of regurgitating mindless left-wing talking points
The Egyptian newspaper El Fagr reported threats of violence and it was reported on English websites on September 10, so how is it that it was completely spontaneous and the administration is unaware?
Movies, such as Bill Maher's religulous, have been far mar insulting to Muslims so why doe this excuse hold water?
The WaPo reports that Obama has attended merely 42% of his security briefings and missed the ones before and after the attack (yet he made a Vegas fundraiser)
Obama criticizes Romney for politicizing a tragedy on 9/11 more harshly than he criticizes the murderers who planned the anniversary attack (and Obama had no problem appearing on the Pimp with a Limp radio show that day)
Obama could not find time to meet with the Israeli president that week, but he did make Letterman
Attacking Romney for Obama's clear and complete failure as a prescient indicates just how irrational the left has degenerated
BTW: Ernest, Obama did promise that if he were elected Muslims would love him - thank for pointing out just how bizarrely Obomabots project their own failure onto others
Obamas foreign policy is collapsing all around him. But it is all Bush/Romneys fault. Talk about spin.
Here's a thought... maybe we could try to _not_ make enemies faster than we're able to kill them.
I don't understand Governor Romney's position. I condemn the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims, and I condemn efforts to offend members of all religions. It's okay with me that my government also condemns those efforts.
How is this different from what Governor Romney said a couple of days ago? "The idea of using something that some people consider sacred and then parading that out in a negative way is simply inappropriate and wrong. And I wish people wouldn't do it," Romney said in an interview with ABC's George Stephanopoulos.
I don't think President Obama was sympathizing with the attackers. When I saw him at the transfer ceremony in Delaware, he did not look like he sympathized with the attackers. I think both President Obama and Governor Romney would agree that the movie is offensive and that the attacks were despicable. It doesn't seem like a viable political issue to me.
I've seen Romney attack another candidate.
But when will he start to lead? I have yet to see him lead.
Obama must be doing something right if the right wingers are upset at him.
Anything that irritates and turns the party of NO into a bunch of spoiled angry 3 year olds is good in my book.
How disgraceful is it that Bro. Romney attacked the President while Americans were being attacked and killed abroad? Romney should have shown support for our embassy, armed forces, and sympathy for those families involved. Using these attacks on American embassies to attack the President was cheap.
Romney probably just lost the election with that one. Trying to score political points off of that situation and ending up being completely WRONG just proves how completely unworthy he is to lead this country. Whoever is advising him on foreign policy needs to expect to be fired soon.

You must sincerely believe your own lies.
Lie #1
The statements you posted were the statements of the Embassy staff, not the president.
Lie #2
Consulates are not US soil.
Lie (by omission) #3
Nowhere in your entire message did you include the actual statements from Clinton and Obama
For those who might fall for your bloviating, here's a segment from Secretary of State Clinton's OFFICIAL statement:
"America’s commitment to religious tolerance goes back to the very beginning of our nation. But let me be clear – there is no justification for this, none. Violence like this is no way to honor religion or faith. And as long as there are those who would take innocent life in the name of God, the world will never know a true and lasting peace."
... the OFFICIAL statement from President Obama:
"I strongly condemn the outrageous attack on our diplomatic facility in Benghazi, which took the lives of four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens...I have directed my administration to provide all necessary resources to support the security of our personnel in Libya, and to increase security at our diplomatic posts around the globe.”
If the bigot with the movie was responsible for everything bad that happened, how did he convince the attackers to bring RPG's to a peaceful demonstration, and then tip them off on the location of the safe house?
Oh, I get it. He's just another Obama diversion. The real story is Obama's epic security fail.
Romney is quite right to condemn the naivete that led to this moment.
How is it Mitt Romney's fault that the embassy didn't provide adequate security for U.S. diplomats?
The anti-romney group will not quote Obama's response to the attack. They will not talk about his cowering before the world when faced with a crisis. They will not talk about his failure to protect Americans and American soil. They will attack anyone who points out Obama's failire to lead.
re: J Thompson
It didn't look like he was cowering too much when he took out Bin Laden...
Let's face it, no matter what Obama says about anything, Romney will find a way to criticize it. Romney even criticizes the president for implementing what is basically Romneycare on a national level. So now he can't even speak of the signature accomplishment of his term as governor. If Obama implemented Romney's jobs plan (assuming he had one), Romney would criticize it. Is this the sort of man we want leading this country? I'd write in Stephen Colbert before voting for Romney. At least we know he's joking.
