Utah probably has the better defense, although I think BYU is better defensively all around than they have been in quite some time. I think their DBs are the best since the Cotton Bowl team.
BYU has the better offense. Riley has some vulnerabilities but is a winner and a senior. Utah has playmakers at WR and solid RBs, but without an offensive line and QB, the skill players are lost. BYU also has really good WRs. They aren't as deep, but Apo and Hoffman talented WRs. BYU also has offensive line issues, but Utah's are worse.
I hope my Utes can win, but I am not optimistic about the rest of the season. If Utah loses this week, they will end up 5-7, and not bowl eligible.
I thought Utah's admission to the PAC 12 was going to be a huge recruiting effort and yet the can't seem to recruit a decent quarterback. What gives?
"Can't seem to recruit a decent quarter back..? Travis Wilson is and is going to be really awesome!
Regarding QB recruits one could argue the some point about BYU's situation. Last years starter transferred and this years starter was recruited to USU. BYU has some fine prospects in the pipeline as does Utah but until we see how they play on the field, they are still prospects.
Utes will be fine with Hays and Wilson this year.
