I was impressed today in a big way with Riley Nelson and Coach Mendenhall... I think that everyone expected a blow out and at the half, a 21 point lead may not have qualified as a blow out quite yet ... But still, BYU was going to win, and it was obvious. So Coach M made the decision to give his Seniors and Freshmen (who probably were not going to get alot of snaps in this year) the opportunity to play the entire second half... The real decision was classy but the real classiness showed up in Riley Nelson (who as a senior himself) didn't sulk or act upset because he was not going to have the opportunity to pad his stats... Something very few Senior QBs in Division I would be happy with... Lark and Hill had good games, but in my mind Riley showed more Leadership than I have seen on a college football field in a very long time...

One last comment... Isn't it nice to not have the Northern College Trolls out??? Thank you USU for bringing some well deserved humility to our smaller siblings to the North of us.

The back up qb's were awesome, tall, fast and strong. Taysom Hill has got potential off the charts, I hope he has a great year getting everything in sync.

Hill is a beast for sure. Barring injury, he is going to have a great career at BYU and probably in the NFL.

I thought Lark showed he is very capable of moving the ball down the field and is an adequate back-up to Nelson, but it seems his arm strength is no better than Nelson's (who gets knocked for having a weak arm). There were a number of Lark's passes that were underthrown to open receivers.
