How and why is this even a question?
Why are we giving money away to other countries when our own country needs it desperately?
If Egypt cannot stand on its own two feet then maybe it doesn't deserve to be a country.
"For starters, Washington has long distributed foreign aid to help advance freedom and democracy. But, Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood that dominates Egypt's new parliament are cracking down on human rights.?
We gave money to Mubarak and he was a dictator, corrupt and he violated human rights. Morsi was elected democratically. More so than Mubarak. He fired the military because of their abuses. Saying that he doesn't support our values is really vague. We support Israel financially and they oppress the Palestinians. Those aren't our values either.
Today, Tuesday, Egyptians tore down the US flag at our Embassy in Cairo. Time to cut Egypt's purse strings. Instead of foreign aid send them a bill for the destruction they just caused.
