...how an elite conference like THE Pac12 could go 4-4 in week 2? I thought PAC teams were entitled to win all preseason games just based on conference alignment and destiny?

I'm not saying you need total thugs, but as I've said time and time again.

Alabama does not have a team full of choir/sunday school boys
Nor does Florida
Nor does Auburn
Nor does LSU
Nor does Utah(we have a handful)
Nor does TCU
Nor does Boise

What do these teams have in common: multiple BCS bowls

Another team in Utah has 90% choir/sunday school boys. No BCS bowl.

Coincidence?

I dont think so either.

Mr. Harmon,
Please use a credible point spread when you make your selections. It takes no skill to pick winners and loosers at a good percentage. You tout your record for these picks but a far better barometer of you picking skill and knowledge is against the spread. The way you have it now is if a team wins by one point or fifty it stills goes to pad your tally.

Did someone forget about National Championships.
National champions
Florida
Auburn
LSU
BYU

TCU doesn't have one
Nor does BSU
Nor does Utah

BYU has a very good football team with a lot of Choir Boys playing at every position. They can be downright nasty on the playing field but they have built their team with honor, integrity and class. Things you likely don't understand.

The choir boys ended the season ranked 25th last year. Where was your team ranked?
Silly, insecure chrissy.

Chris B,

One team in Utah has had more 10+ win seasons since 2000 than the other team has had in their entire history. One has 90% choir boys, the other one doesn't. I bet you'll never guess which one is which.

christina BYU has something in common with most of those schools that utah doesn't have, a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. utah never will have that.

As a BYU fan I would never agree with Chris B, Byu haters rarely have a reasonable observation, However, there is no other explanation to the lack of the killer instinct needed to compete at the highest levels of college football. I as a Cougar fan can agree we have rarely competed at that level.

Chris B,

I guess Arizona, ASU and California are playing with choir boys too since none of them have been to a BCS bowl.

Mesa coug,

Bad logic there. If I say "a good team will win the national championship" that is not the same as me saying "the team that loses the championship game is bad".

Why hasnt byu won bcs games when dozens of programs have?

I presented the reason. Disagree? Please present a reason

I have said byu was good 30 years ago because lavelle was ahead of the times and could compensate for lack of athletes. Your coach is a average at best today.

Is Kyle Whittingham "average at best"? Bronco is ranked several spots ahead of him. Doh!
National champion BYU Cougars.
Honor, integrity and class.

TJ,

TCU has two national titles.

I can't remember when I've agreed with you. Please work on your logic.

Only one AQ conference did not win a National Championship during the BCS era. Any guesses? Is it odd that the "Conference of Champions" won zero BCS championships.

The whole premise of recruiting criminals, bad apples,or felons is ridiculous. Personally, I've seen plenty of choir boys off the field, absolutely dominate on the field.

What a dumb post. Harmon isn't gambling, he is simply saying who he thinks will win the game. He isn't trying to tip anyone off as to who to place a bet on. Call your bookie if you want that, if you just want to read a sports writer say what team hthinks will win then read Harmons column.

LOL!

Lack of athletes? I believe the 1984 team alone had something like 14 players who went on to play in the NFL. Who qualifies as "athletes"?

All teams have some players with sketchy pasts. BYU, Utah, USU - I can find a handful on each roster. I can't mention them here by name, but they are there.

USC did win an AP National Championship during the bcs era, but you are correct when referring to the sacred "bcs" cow, that the PAC has never won a bcs National Championship.

Excluding USC, BYU has won more consensus national championships (#1 AP and Coaches), than the rest of the PAC combined.

IF BYU scores only 34 points against WSU, a Div II school, it will be an embarrassment. The 3 points for WSU is about right. But common sense would say BYU should score in the high 40s or low 50s. I'd bet on it.
