Gotta love what Jake is doing on offense. He's going to be special.
Jake is a great Tight End. I really wish we had him at BYU but he will be fun to watch at Utah this year. He is setting himself up for a real shot at the NFL. It just would have been such a fun story to have Dale Murphy's son scoring touchdowns for the Cougars. Ughhh...
Does Utah actually have a solid TE now? We have heard they do, but between four guys at that position fluxuating all over the depth chart this offseason, I am just glad Utah made the call (finally) to make Jake Murphy the man.
gdog, they have solid depth at the position now, but I don't know about anyone who can do it all enough to be an every down guy. Kendrick Moea'i is a great blocker and decent receiver. Rolf is a beast physically, but not as polished. Dallin Rogers has great ball skills, but seems to have lost a step in speed, and is not a great blocker. Murph hasn't been known as much of a blocker either, but has good speed and elusiveness and great ball skills. It was nice the other day, though, to hear Neuheisel mention Murphy as an emerging threat at TE comparing with Sefarian-Jenkins, Telfer, Lyerla and Fauria, all apparent future NFLers.
