How about some specifics. If this about restricting food by up to 40 percent I know some humans that could restrict their food up to 70 percent and they would benefit by being able to then live normal healthy lives.
Some specifics please.

Thank goodness for the animal-rights activists who release mink from mink farms. Authorities say the mink tend to die fairly quickly after being released. Sounds humane to me.
If you dug into it, you would find thousands of unnecessary programs funded by our tax dollars. Forget the monkeys -- save the taxpayers!
Someday I hope that people are as willing to intervene on behalf of the children who suffer terribly at the hands of their parents as they are for critters.
