Just wondering

"Have the Utes played on Saturday yet? Oh yeah, first Saturday game will be 9/15 thanks to the Cougars and their world-wide network partner!"

You are correct! And thank YOU, once again for letting us use your "world-wide network partner" last year in Provo. That worked out great for the Utes, no so much for you guys, but for us...YES!

So would you count Weber State, New Mexico State, Idaho and San Jose State as legit competition? Keep throwing those rocks from your glass house.

@u 90

SJSU looks like they might be legit competition, at least based on the way they played against a certain pac 12 team this last weekend. That is the thing about college football, if a school has a group of upper classmen that have played together for a few years they can be a pretty decent team despite not having previous success. It certainly happened for utah in 2008 as they were pretty mediocre the previous 2-3 years.

As for the other 3 you mentioned, well I have my doubts that any of them will be "legit" but of course we all know why they are on the schedule now and why they are not on any future schedules although I wouldn't rule out one of them occasionally being on a future schedule as everyone schedules a patsy or two most years.

But I also don't anticipate any of them being as bad as Northern Colorado, not that it matters, but that was the ultimate "patsy".

"while in the Mountain West, the Utes didn't pay any attention to who was up and who was down in the conference. They focused, and got their business done."

So how do you explain Kyle's losses to Colorado State, Wyoming, New Mexico, and that humiliating shutout to 10-loss UNLV?

Bronco never lost to ANY of those teams.

Which explains why Bronco has FIVE Top 25 finishes and Kyle only THREE. Bronco knows how to pay attention to every team on his schedule, unlike Kyle, who frequently falls asleep against his "lesser" opponents, like 10-loss Colorado.

As EVERYONE knows, including our whiny friends on the hill, Weber State, New Mexico State, Idaho and San Jose State were simply fillers that Holmoe had to resort to in order to schedule 24 games for 2011 and 2012 in such a short time period.

Unlike the Utes, who only had to schedule a couple of games for 2011 and 2012, and still ended up scheduling a couple of Big Sky patsies, including a team that was WINLESS in 2011.
