The year's not over yet.
The elections of 1824, 1828, 1860, and 1864 weren't pretty either. For example Lincoln was left off the ballot on most ballots in the South and was hung in effigy by angry mobs during the election season.
I'm glad to know we have survived it before and we'll survive it again.
