As a student at WSU, I watched the city of Ogden transform, and have been impressed every time I go back to Ogden. Godfrey did some things that made people mad; but I thought they were the right things, and the things that needed to be done. Good job Mayor Godfrey. You may not miss your old job, but Ogden misses you... whether some would admit it or not.
I'm with @Waaandy on this one. I still remember what it was when he became mayor. The previous set of politicians had made it so bad for business that the mall had very few tenants.........and it was still hard to do business in downtown. The taxes were higher in Ogden than in all the surrounding area. I also heard plenty of mockery of Ogden from those living in Salt Lake and Utah valleys.
I remember the city council fighting him on what seemed the stupidest things. However, 12 years have passed and the changes to Ogden have been phenomenal.
Good job Mayor Godfrey.
