Two different ESPN analysts just picked Utah as the surprise team of the NATION this year. The BCS gods blessed us with USC at home and still not playing Oregon or Stanford. Whittingham knows what went wrong last year, as we ended up being one of the hottest teams in the nation the past 6 games.

2012 could very well be Rosey if Wynn stays healthy.

Utah 55
northern colorado 3

wsu 34
byu 21

utah 31
byu 10

I'll be there tomorrow. Will U??

The utes will overlook N. Colorado just like the Buffs last season and lose to the Bears.

I know this because I read an interview with N. Colorado's coach and he seems to have his squad ready to go. They are bound and determined to beat the utes.

I see Ewwtah going 1-2 or 0-3 after losing to the Blue in Week #3. The Blue will still be undefeated after winning in Ricey stadium, and then go into Boise to claim another victory en route to the BCS.

Utah 31
N. Colorado 33

To cosmo
that is the most hilarious post i have ever seen.

Louisiana-Monroe, UAB and W. Kentucky are all FBS schools (Div I-A). I wouldn't use those teams in this comparison.

One can dream, right?

Are you ready for some football?

@ Cosmo's Cousin: At first, your comment bugged me, but then I realized you were just joking. Wait, you were joking right?

Chris B - "as we ended up being one of the hottest teams in the nation the past 6 games."

I only watched two Utah games last year - BYU and Colorado. I'm not sure Utah looked like one the the "hottest" teams to me against the Buffs.

Interesting that you post two BYU scores and only one Utah score on a Utah article. Is obsession the right word?

"Whittingham knows what went wrong last year, as we ended up being one of the hottest teams in the nation the past 6 games."

Last three games:

A 3-point win in OT against 4-win WSU
A LOSS at HOME against 10-loss Colorado
A 3-point win in OT against 56th ranked Ga Tech

And we all thought denial was a river in Egypt.

You're so sure about your prediction, why don't you come down to Vegas and place a few dollars on your sure bet? Better yet, I'll take the wager for you.

The Utes don't have to worry about Northern Colorado. They'll win. If they lose, that would be the biggest embarrassment to everyone in Utah.

Chris B and friends...

"Two different ESPN analysts just picked Utah as the surprise team of the NATION this year."

Well, that may be but no one will be watching outside of the PAC 12 six state area for a while...

Jon Wilner - San Jose Mercury News just updated his page...

"SAN JOSE -- If you have DirecTV and were hoping to watch football on the Pac-12 Networks, you're out of luck.

The conference won't reach a carriage agreement with the nation's largest satellite operator before the season starts Thursday, according to a source."

So much for that nation wide coverage this week. It's probably for the better, if Northern Colorado embarrasses you, no one will know, and if you blow them out of the water, no one will care, a win win all around.

Who would of imagined that limited TV coverage would be this great!

I'll send you a rose when we're at our 3rd BCS game this year!

I'm willing to put some money down that N. Colorado will prevail. VegasUte, I bet you money that there will be an upset tomorrow night. Mark it down!

In the game after, the Blue will dominate and make Leach wish he was back in Texas. Bronco is a much better coach and Leach doesn't stand a chance against the Blue coaching genius.

I know what channel the BYU game is on. Can someone tell me what channel the Utah game is on? I'm sure hundreds of people would like to see the Utes take on the worst team in Div II. Northern Colorado vs Lone Peak would be a better game. And U have the nerve to criticize BYU's schedule. Just think in 2014 and 2015, you'll be playing a team like this in Week 3 instead of BYU. That's something great for U to look forward to.

@ThomasJefferson "BYU starts against a PAC 12 team, "the Conference of Champions.""

I'm excited to play WSU, but Conference of Champions? Let's play Jeopardy! This conference is the only AQ conference not to win a National Championship during the BCS era. If you answered - Who is the PAC 10 / 12, you'd be right.

@CougFaninTX - Chris B posted 2 Utah scores ... maybe you missed the part about him predicting a 31 to 10 victory over your team in blue. Does that make him obsessed? I think not, it makes him a realist.

Still the best post above was Cosmo predicting UNC would score 31 points on the U defense. We will see what you post after the game but I'm predicting we will hear nothing but crickets chirping. This game isn't going to be close.

@cougieinTX "you'll be playing a team like this in Week 3 instead of BYU. That's something great for U to look forward to."

Sorry to inform you but competetion wise there really isn't a difference. We took 2 year hiatus to get the real big blue on the schedule. As far as our cupcake game each year the cougies will fit right back into their 44 pt beat downs starting again in 2016.

"One of the hottest teams in the nation"

As utah "fans" like to point out about BYU's finish to their season, "look at the competition". utah played a who's who of the worst teams in the pac12 the last half of the season, and they were all bad teams, and still managed to lose to one of them, the one everyone would consider the worst of the bunch.

LOL!

Loved that sidebar poll. I have to laugh at how frantic and emotional our little brothers from WACistan are. There were actually 13 Y fans at the time of this post that answered UNC has a 100% chance of beating the Utes.

Such jealousy. Such soul-tormenting anguish. For the next 19-weeks, EVERYDAY will be an ugly reminder that their big brother had joined their first choice of relevant conferences...

...while they had nowhere to go but the WAC.

Go Washington St!

GO UTES!!!
