Come on Ogletree. "It's as good a test as we could possibly see in the country." Okay, I get why you might say this and why others might be cool with it. I mean you want to respect your opponent and all. But to say such outlandish things doesn't reflect well on reality and it's relationship with honesty. Maybe Ogletree really believes this. If so, then I apologize for any hint of dishonesty. But now I have to address the possible delusional aspects here. Wait a minute, actually I don't need do that.
Prepare well Ogletree and BYU, this could be a tough test.
I am sure with the church devotionals bronco had your guys well prepared.

There it is. I've been waiting for it.
"Your five toghest games..." have included wazzu all summer long. Now then fans start to downplay wazzu so win or lose, we still lose.
Wazzu is a great unknown, as are all the teams, including Utah, that BYU plays this season. But unless we admit defeat to four or five from the outset, then we're delusional. Respect them, and the old bannana peels start to come out just before game time.
At least with the Oklahoma game, Ute fans didn't start to bad mouth them until AFTER the game.
Take the Cougars seroiously. WSU could win.
The most interesting information in that article was the fact that WSU has not played on ESPN Since 2006! I Thought that the PAC-12 would ensure much better TV coverage. Perhaps they have been on CBS sports a lot or maybe that is typical of a mid to lower tier PAC-12 school. At least they get the paycheck from USC, Stanfords and Oregon success.
This paper gives fans the opportunity to put down other conferences, Utah and anyone that is not BYU. So far to one side. After I get home from the Utah game, I will be cheering mightily for WSU.
Standing room only for Utah playing against a nobody. Still tickets available at regular box office for one of the better teams on BYU's home schedule. Neither happened 12 years ago. Hmmmm!

Ouch!
Ouch!!
Never heard that one.
Nice loving attitude. Are we bringing this up again? When anyone was on the MTN, it was rare anyone was om national tv unless they played in a bowl or against someone with a contract with espn. Is this how one feels superior? The most interesting part was reading how BYU's secondary will be challenged.
Go WSU.
I predict the Cougars will win.
I predict the cougars will lose

KamUte,
If BYU's stadium was as small as 45,000 there'd only be standing room, too. If Utah's stadium held 65,000 there would still be tickets being sold. How much do student tickets cost again? Student tickets at BYU are certainly not free.
@KamUte "Standing room only for Utah playing against a nobody."
My only question is if they'll see Jordan Wynn actually throw for more than 105 yards against THIS FCS team.
He seemed to struggle a little bit with that last year.
I'm stoked for the season to start!
Go Cougars (in blue)!
I hope this is a good game that is at least close until the 4th quarter. I Ogleteree's defense, I think this is an ideal opening matchup. A team you should for sure beat, but who will likely force you to play your best.
That said Go WSU! They just might pull it out!
With byu's ever impressive secondary, known for your impressive "athletes" why would their passing attack be a worry?
LOL

The Utah stadium is smaller. More than half the population in Utah are BYU fans. Utah may have only 20% of the population. As a percentage, Utah is doing well. It will not be long until Utah has a larger stadium. I obviously didn't make my point in that Utah fan base is growing while BYU's is not as evidenced by the shrinking crowds in Provo. I can still buy 10 tix from box office in Provo.
I just paid $180 x 2 for my kid's MUSS tickets so they certainly aren't free at Utah. My own tickets were $1,000 donation plus $64 per ticket for 5 games and $74 per ticket for the USC game so I'm in to it nearly $2,400 and my own tickets are 10 rows from the top. Happy to pay.
KamUte,
I got this info from the U's football website:
"Students will get one ticket for free with a valid University ID, and are allowed to purchase one guest ticket*."
Oops, I guess you were wrong about that.
Besides, although there are many BYU fans, you must realize that many live far away. Tom Holmoe also mentioned that people are starting to opt for watching the game at home since so many are on national TV (exposure is a double-edged sword). Don't think that Utah's high demand for tickets will stay around forever.
@kamute
You got ripped off.
BYU football can be seen on TV, plus the game is on Thursday which are tougher to get people to. Plus if LES only held 45,000 people instead of 66,000, it would be sold out too. It will be sold out by game time.
Mike Leach is the best coach in the Pac 12. BYU could get their hat handed to them tonight.
