I almost wish byu won do that we can personally end your season ourselves, as we march to Pasadena!

If Chris B leaves my only purpose in life comes to a screeching halt... not really but it was compelling thought for a second. LOL

I'm not worried about Riley, it would be unfortunate if he gets injured but with BYU, there's always a QB ready to go.

Here's hoping for a great senior season for you Riley... with no injuries. I'm so ready for you to have a breakout season and to put it to the competition.

Now on to a more serious topics as I'm sure they will be brought up...

The Utes have a greater problem. And we know it starts at the QB position.

History can and often repeats itself. Nothing different this year. If Wynn goes down, the Utes will have to reload and suffer through another ho hum season.

And unless DirectTV deals with the PAC 12 Network its going to be a long season for a bunch of Ute fans.

If BYU beats Utah crisb won't post under crisb all year. But he / she will post under some of his / her other id's. The obsession lives on

sammyg,

Greater QB problem? What happens when Riley gets himself injured? Does BYU not plan for these things?

No TJ, Chris B will post all year long as Chris B, regardless of the outcome of the game. He did this during BYU basketball season, saying BYU would not win and was so sure of that that he declared that if BYU did win, he would not post for a year. BYU won big, and a couple weeks later Chris B was posting again.

Riverton Cougar - You hit the nail on the head. I remember when predicted BYU would lose to SDSU in basketball and promised not to post, but a few days later his obsession with all things BYU was back at the comment board.

I don't mind if Riley scrammbles and runs, it's one of his better abilities. He just needs to learn how to slide or get out of bounds instead of taking the hit at the end of the play. The extra yard or two is not worth it, unless it's 3rd / 4th down and the game is on the line - like the final drive against Tulsa when he scrammbled for the 1st down.

He's proven he's tough. He's proven he should be the starter. Now he needs to prove that he has the smarts to keep himself in the game. I'm sure Lark is ready to come in, but our chances of winning are better with Riley.

Lark could probably beat 7 of the 12 teams on our schedule. But we need Riley at 100% against WSU, BSU, utah, ND and GT.

Riley had a fractured rib in the Bowl Game? No wonder he played so poorly! With the exception of the game winning drive, of course. I was wondering what the problem was with the offense that game. It doesn't look like he's going to quit unless he's like literally dead or something. He might not be the best passer in the world, but you've got to admire his football savvy.

I can't believe Nelson is the best guy you have at QB. I always hate your QB's but they are usually pretty good, but Nelson??? I will watch the WSU game and reserve my opinion until then, but what I saw in the TCU games didn't impress me much.

Chris B - you live in your own little bubble, don't you.

By the way, don't overlook Northern Colorado.

WSU - 17
BYU - 34

utah - 10
BYU - 42

Mark it down.

I think it's going to be a competition between him and Wynn of the University of Utah on whom gets hurt the least. Even though I'm an ardent Cougar fan, I don't expect Riley Nelson to play the whole season. Lark better have his arm warmed up at all times.

Will Riley Nelson last the year as quarterback?

That might seem like a crazy question, but this time last year it would have been crazy to wonder if Jake Heaps would last the year as quarterback.

Ragnar Danneskjold

Hopefully Nelson will make it through the season. Even though I am not a BYU fan, I want to see all of their guys stay healthy for multiple reasons. I don't want to see anybody hurt playing a game for my entertainment. And I don't want any excuses. Only a coward would want to play another team at less than full strength.

@IdaUte "I will watch the WSU game and reserve my opinion until then, but what I saw in the TCU games didn't impress me much."

You mean the fact that he had almost 300 yards of total offense in that game, more than the entire TCU team combined, didn't impress you?

That was arguably the best performance by a BYU or Utah QB against TCU since Max Hall in 2007. Did he make 2 really bad mistakes in the blue zone? Yep. However, if our punting team doesn't have a really weird, complete meltdown, BYU wins that game. If Riley doesn't make his two mistakes, BYU wins that game going away.

The dude's a winner, and he's very underrated as a passer. I'm looking forward to watching him prove all the doubters wrong this year.

Go Cougars!

We know you're still adjusting to the subtleties of your new conference so your confusion is understandable, but playing at UCLA is vastly different from playing in the Rose Bowl.

Dudes a winner against who? Wac teams? Who has he proven he's a winner against? Underrated passer how exactly? His best passes are heeve the ball in the air and hopes it lands in the right person's hands. See utah st. game for example hail marry to Jacobson a horrible pass from him tipped into his teammates hands is only reason they win that game.

Like your QB but don't over praise him until he actually proves something and beats a good team. Thats like ute fan's coming on here saying Jordan Wynn dudes a winner and underrated runner.

@2bcswins

utah "fans" are coming on here and singing wynn's praises.
