"Romney supports an extension of Bush-era tax cuts for everyone including the wealthiest 2 percent, and says his policies will benefit the middle class by boosting the economy and creating jobs."

We keep hearing that tax breaks for the the top 2 percent will create jobs, but evidence of this during the Bush years seems to disprove this assertion. During the Bush years, companies, including Romney's own leveraged buyout companies, turned to off-shoring of jobs to China, all to benefit stockholders -- not middle class Americans.

Romney's own actions of off-shoring his wealth and engaging in legal tactics to dodge taxes exemplifies how the rich operate. Yes, it is all perfectly legal, but let's not pretend that the wealthy have the best interests of America and the middle class at heart.

Obama is disappointing, but America isn't buying the Romney "my wealth first" brand.

Yes, some Americans believe that another person's success should be their success. There are people who want entitlement and not opportunity and their definition of rich is someone with more than they have. Perhaps we should also make those with expensive fishing rods pay more for a fishing license.

To "Baron Scarpia" did Romney do anything illegal with his money?

We have seen evidence that the Bush tax cuts work. See "Why the Bush Tax Cuts Worked" in the NY Times.

You should also read "Will Democrats Extend All the Bush Tax Cuts?" at CBS News. There the quote some Democrats that explain that by taxing the rich more, you will slow the economy down. Which is better for the economy, letting it grow freely or slowing it down so that expansion is slow?

Also read "Rich got richer, paid more taxes under Bush" in the Washington Times. There they found that "That includes a staggering 86 percent of the income tax being paid by just the top quintile of earners." That is an increase from previous years.

Baron,

I doubt you heard Romney's assertion that under his plan, the wealthy would continue to pay the same percentage of federal taxes that they do now.

By what measure are you saying the bush tax cuts did not help create jobs? Job growth continued following the bush tax cuts until the barney frank-induced housing collapse nearly brought our economy down. Even BO's own advisors told him in late 2010 that reversing the tax cuts would hurt job growth.
