list... That is hardly illuminating. Get back me to when Conan O'Brien

News For UOnly SIX conference championships in the last 55 years is
pathetic, no matter how you slice it.Only FIVE Top 25 finishes in
both polls, in your ENTIRE HISTORY, is just as pathetic, especially for a
johnny-come-lately program who only thinks he's accomplished something of
significance on a national scale.BYU fans don't need to slice
and dice Utah's record to make U look bad; your complete lack of a national
award of any kind speaks for itself.
a faster start against Boise and the U?? I don't think so.
@Riddles in the Dark----------Ever heard of the phrase
"yet to win the big one"? That is Bronco. Ignoring and not
including Utah's BCS bowl season, is typical of one-sided Cougar fan
remarks. Putting ALL the stats together, the two coaches are close to even,
given the overall win-loss records. But if you Cougar fans would value an extra
conference championship over a BCS bowl and undefeated season, then so be it.
Most people would disagree. That said, Bronco is a great coach. But until he
wins a BCS bowl with an undefeated season, he is a step below Kyle. You gotta
win the "big one" so to speak, and when you do, the nation notices and
eyes are opened. Bronco has yet to do that.
@ Marked it Down"From a Utah fan's perspective, I guess you
could classify them as obscure, since the Utes have so few of them:"From a BYU fan's perspective, I guess you could classify win/loss
records in the rivalry series as obscure, since BYU is on the losing end of
it....BIG TIME!!!"Only 6 conference championships in the last 6
decades".Gotta love BYU fans and their selective stats just to
make Utah look bad. Let me correct you on this one:Utah
has won 24 total conference championships (one more than BYU).
Stop with the ancient comparisons. The Yankees have won 28 World Series. That
guarantees nothing for this year. Utah won a couple of BCS bowl games. Big deal.
What have they done lately? What will they do this year? BYU sucked the first
half last year and we all know why. This is a new year. I hope the Utes think,
like their fans, that they are a great team. They'll find out otherwise,
probably in September. Losses to USC and vengeful BYU will puncture the fantasy
balloon. As for BYU, they'll lose two of those tough road games, but Utah
won't be one of them.Just sayin'.
It will be fun to watch their development, good players who are good people.
@ Just the "Facsimile" Obviously your predictions were based
on a facsimile which was lost in transmission and not based on actual
Red Headed StrangerIt's doubtful Chris B will be much

Chris B.,Thank you for taking an interest in the Devotionals,
Forums, and Firesides at BYU. Former speakers at BYU include - Margaret
Thatcher- Dick Cheney- Chief Justice John Roberts- Sandra Day
O'Connor- Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid- Joseph
Lieberman- Condoleezza Rice- David Petraeus - F.W. de Clerk- Physicist Neil de Grasse Tyson- Historians Ken Burns, David
McCullough, Simon Schama and James Burke, to name a few. A schedule can
be found at the calendar link at the BYU web page. Devotionals and Forums are
on Tuesdays. I strongly recommend listening to them, as they are simultaneously
broadcast on KBYU. You don't have to go through the rigorous BYU
admissions process to hear them. Past speeches are available in the "News
and Events" link on the main BYU website.Football is ancillary
to the main mission of BYU - to educate the mind and the spirit. I strongly
recommend a talk given at BYU by a University of Utah alum Neal A. Maxwell
called "The Inexhaustible Gospel". It is filled with profound thoughts,
and helps illustrate the role that BYU has. Yes, the devotionals are more
important than football.
Riddles in the DarkYou can't blame Utah fans for only wanting
to cherry pick highlights - even they realize that Utah's 2011 was
mediocre, at best, and Bronco's overall record is clearly better than
Kyles, especially when it comes to losing to BAD teams, which Utah fans love to
pretend never happens.
In all fairness to BYU's "slow start", they have opened the season
with BCS teams every year but one (and then they scored 41 points like they were
supposed too). To go 5-2 with opening games, most on the road, against opponents
from the ACC, SEC, PAC 10, and the BIG 12. This actually isn't a story
about low production as much as it is great fall preparation. With
the teams they've played, in the venues they have...impressive!
Utes FanUnfortunately for U, OVERALL record is based on more than
ONE season.Every single stat you cited is from 2008 - typical of
blinders-wearing Utah fans who think that one game makes a season, and one
season makes an overall record.According to hill calculus, the WORST
team in the PAC 12 in 2011, was BETTER than the Utes. The Utes have settled into
their conference bottom dwelling role nicely.
@Marked it DownYou left out a few:Top 10 finishes:Kyle 1Bronco 0Top 5 finishes:Kyle 1Bronco 0Victories over end of season top-10 ranked teams:Kyle 2Bronco 0BCS bowl victories:Kyle 1Bronco 0
Barnbug1It's nice to dream isn't it?But,
eventually you have to face reality:BYU basketball - another 25+
win, NCAA tournament seasonUtah basketball - between 10 and 15 wins, IF,
they're luckyBYU football - 10-2Utah football - 7-5
I think most Utah fans are focused on the improvement of the program. The last
8 years have been great for the program. Two BCS years and then an invite to
the PAC. I would never argue the Utah has a richer history than BYU. Only that
Utah is been headed in a different direction for the past decade. Last
year wasn't great. It will get better. Utah's recruiting is getting
better every year, including this year, despite last year's struggles.Next year BYU fans will change their tune about what it really means to play
schools from major conferences game after game. It is a different world.
@ fan of all sportsI'm a fan of both schools also, although
i'm more of a basketball fan.I can't wait for the season to get
here. My predictions for each team:Utah 25 and 7. They recruited Jordan
Loverage. BYU 15 and 17. I lovethem so much. LOL
I'M a fan of both teams. I hate the hatred that fans have for each other.
Both fans view their programs as one of the best in the nation. The rest of the
country doesn't see it that way. The PAC 12 is seen as the Big 3, 3 or 4
nice teams and 6 or 7 bad teams. Utah fits in the nice team catagory. Top
programs are lining up to play BYU because they are a recognizable non BCS team
that you have a 90% chance of winning. Lately BYU hasn't beaten a highly
regarded program since Oklahoma and they had a down year, for a long time.My predictions for each team: Utah 10 and 2. They don't have to play 2 of
the Big 3.BYU 7 and 5 losses at Utah, Boise, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech and
either Washington State or Utah State.Th week Utah 49 Northern Colorado 3
BYU'S slow starts continue Washington State 31 BYU 21.
Here we go Cougars, here we go. Get em' Leach.
DnquixotelolSince when are Top 25 finishes and
conference championships "obscure" stats? From a Utah
fan's perspective, I guess you could classify them as obscure, since the
Utes have so few of them:Only 6 conference championships in the last
6 decades.Only 5 Top 25 finishes in both polls, EVER!I will
give U for getting pretty adept at losing to 10-loss teams, however.TWO losses to 10-loss teams in the last 5 years, as many has BYU in it ENTIRE
HISTORY!Utah's heyday is behind the Utes - you topped out at
#2/#4. Not bad for a school that prides itself on being 2nd best.
@Marked it downAnd your point is? Always with the same slanted stats
trying to be better than Utah. How about trying to better than last year, every
year. Or trying to be better than each opponent. Stop judging success on
whether or to can dig up obscure stats to say you're better than Utah.
Start beating Utah and THEN you can say that. P.S. My personal
favorite is "top 15 wins" as opposed to "top 5 wins". You
should go into politics.
Hey Chris BFirst question: What does Alabama, USC and BYU all have
in common? Answer; They are all National Champions.Second
question: Who is missing from the list?Answer: Well, that is pretty
obvious. Your attempt to achieve relevance via associations and/or osmosis is
laughable.Win the National Championship. Until then, talk is cheap.
Mark it down.LOL
To me its not about comparisons between the two. Anyone, whether they wear blue
or red, that cannot see and admit that Mendenhall and Whittingham are two of the
best young coaches in college football, are delusional.

Do we know what the lineup is for the devotionals this year?I hear
after seeing how amazing byu is there are teams like Alabama, USC, and Utah that
are implementing similar devotionals.BYU 2012 national church
I like Riley but I'm worried he will stay healthy. I really hope James
Lark is ready to lead this team if Riley goes down. I hope we see some series
with Lark in the game on Thursday. He needs game time reps early in the season
so he can be effective in the latter half of the year.

Every year Bronco hypes up the team with these types of comments, I just wonder
why people continue to believe him after his record?
I am so glad that the week has finally arrived to answer 2000 questions fans
have about this year's team. This is the first year I'm approaching
the season with all the trepidation that Doman has overcome, so he says. Fans
have been led to over-estimate BYU for so many years now, that the writers and
coaches have little credibility to this fan. So I'm developing my
expectations AFTER each of the first 4 games, starting with the MOST important
game of the 4 - this weekend. I wish them well. A loss will cause me to put no
air in my balloon. A win is the only way to get me excited for the season. A
BIG win does so much more for me.
