What about the right to enjoy public events without hearing offensive language? Our society is way off course when we try to limit public prayer but not vulgar speech.
How could such a vague ordinance have ever been enforced? Do you provide police officers with a list of prohibited words or give them discretion to decide what goes? At least Mayor Bloomberg's ludicrous prohibition on 20 ounce or great sugar soft drinks is specific. This law would have made Ogden the laughing stock of the country on the evening news.
