Leave of absence? Where have we heard of this before from Rick. I hope he's okay. I really do. And I am grateful for what he gave Utah. Still, all the show up for work when you want to stuff really hamstrings a university.
Well, well now. Who would ever have thunk it!
I wonder why that doesn't surprise anyone.
I have been a big Rick Majerus fan for a long time. Unforttunately, he has never taken very good care of his body. As a local high school and college coach in the 90's, I had a chance to talk basketball with Rick quite a bit. He's definitely a brilliant guy. I'm afraid his career is over though. He had his best team coming back this year, returning 4 starters from a team that won 24 games. This is also the last year of his contract at St. Louis. I don't see St. Louis or anyone else handing a contract to a 65 year old coach with chronic health issues. I wish him the best, but the timing of this is not good.
