Yawn, yet another distraction from the issues facing voters this fall.

This article proves the effective resourcing of a businessman who could go to work for the people of the United States to solve their problems with the economy, immigration, foreign relations, national debt and unemployment after inauguration day 2009.

I was also recently energized to hear that the Romney team has come up with a plan to make the United States independent from foreign energy by the year 2020.

Money is what causes our politicians to make bad decisions.

All money. Union, Corporate, Lobby

And it corrupts both parties.

If we are serious about this issue, quit carping about what the other side is doing and hold YOUR own side accountable.

Does anyone NOT think that these contributions require payback?

Band together, both R and D and work to get ALL money out of politics. Not just what the other side gets.

2/3 of the way through the article, the AP finally mentions BO does something similar, only they don't make BO's methods sound so sinister.

and you know what? no one holds a gun to the potential donors' heads and makes them contribute.

Oh Good grief!

There is nothing secret about this program. It is just another hit piece.

Here are facts to consider:

Program developed out of a program developed in spatial Geography KD Tree. Used to analyze communities to determine households. Used mainly by retailers to determine where to build based on the program determining who would buy what or has what based on the community they live in. EVERY SHOPPING CENTER IN THE COUNTRY AND EVERY RETAILER uses this SECRET(hahaha) program.

It is also adapted to be used in fundraising by many non profits. So what the author has done is 1. Avoided condemning the Obama campaign and every other campaign in the United States for using the same program!
2. Has accused many retailers and commercial property developers of some SECRET plan.
3. Has accused many non-profits, school systems, advertizers, and local governments of some Secret plan.

You see it is absurd to read this article and assume something secret that is accessible by any business or government needing to use it! No secret at all. The only conspiracy is the left wing attack on Romney Ryan by the left wing media AP is part of!

Mr. Obama want to play politics Chicago style and would be a lot happier if Mr. Romney would tie one hand behind his back like John McCain did. Well, it isn't going to happen.

I received a contribution solicitation from Romney. I sent him many times more than he is worth. I sent him a penny.

"I sent him many times more than he is worth. I sent him a penny."

I don't know that the many people he served during his 13 years as a bishop and then stake president would agree with your assessment. We will never know how many people who were suffering in mind and body he was able to help lift up.

I'm sure he will appreciate your offering. Coupled with all the other donations he is receiving it may be what he needs to win in November.

This is the only part of the article that really gave me pause "The fate of the presidency may depend on who raises more money in the campaign," not because Romeny has recently out raised Obama or because Romney did something wrong (which it does not appear he did) but because this seems to have been money seems to have bought elections for far to long.

furry,
so did you receive money from BO in response to his solicitation, since his worth is negative?

My life-long Democratic spouse has recently been getting frequent texts on his blackberry from Romney. Apparently Romney has found his name on the data mining list.

@LostinDC

You continually overlook the part in the article, "The effort by Romney appears to be the FIRST example of a political campaign using such EXTENSIVE data analysis."

You frequently resort to immature name-calling. (Obama=BO, me=truthmocker) Apparently DN doesn't have standards which prohibit name-calling?

Boring. I'm sure Obama, RNC, DNC and most others use similar methods and have for some time. When I've helped with a local UT campaign years ago, I was able to work from a list of names of voters. It showed names, addresses and if they voted in the primary or the general election (but not who they voted for, just that they voted.) We used it to make phone calls, mail flyers, etc.

You're not an effective leader if you are using the knowledge and information. As accurately quoted in "Sneakers"; It isn't who controls the money, it's who controls the information."
