I'm a bit worried about the Wynn situation. I'm hoping that it really is just a precaution holding him out the last few days but it's still unnerving. At least our backup situation is much better than it was last year. We have a talented group of receivers this year and we need someone who can get the ball out fast an accurate.

I'm happy to hear that there weren't many major injuries during camp. I hope the handful of guys that are a little banged up can get back on the field next week.

Can't for the season to begin! So close.

Go Utes!

inb4 BYU trolls.

Wynn will be fine.

I'm thinking Wilson better be ready!!

Good luck, Utes!
I am looking for the first and only loss of USC at SLC.

We've now come full circle and then some with this story... from "arm soreness" to "just a little fatigue with his throwing shoulder", from the original shoulder injury to the one he doesn't use back to his throwing arm and shoulder.

I've omitted all of the coaching staff deflection, the half truths to the media, drama and so forth.

It's beginning to sound like Jordan's days as a starting Ute QB may be coming to an end. It's got to be frustrating for him, the mental hurdles to overcome, nevermind the coaches pressuring him to perform and part in this.

Good luck on your recovery... again.

I'm sure there will be plenty of comments that will cover all the other aspects of this story and the never ending saga of the never ending Ute QB dilemma.

Another long season in Uteville.

Once BYU's Van Noy meets wynn and his poorly performing and unproven offensive tackles, then we'll really see how "deep" they are at quarterback. The real reason they are holding wynn out of practice is to make their other guys better...they know wynn won't last past game 3!!

I'm worried about it. I do not think that Hay's can give us any better a result than he did last year and I'm not sure he can even give us that good a result. Wilson is a freshman, it doesn't seem most fans understand what that really means.

Wynn needs to be healthy or it could be a very long season for us.

Looks like a lot of questions remain....not a glowing endorsement of anything by Coach W.

Better hope CU didn't give NC any pointers.....

Well it is more than obvious that Wynn is not 100% as we heard all spring and summer. With the problems on the O-line and breaking in both tackles, it is only a matter of time before Wynn goes down with another shoulder injury. Ute fans better be prepared for another anemic offense and a losing record in the PAC-12. Hopefully one of your inexperienced backups pans out so you can actually give my trojans a game come October. Not that it will be much of a game either way...

Bountiful, UT

"Wynn will be fine"

Oh, is he applying for Dental school or something?

An equally big concern is that the OL was next to last in the Pac12 last year in sacks given up and that was with 2All-Pac12 tackles in Bergstrom & Cullen and now those guys are gone and it doesn't sound like anyone has really stepped up to fill those shoes. I've read they can't decide between a career backup like Mason or a true frosh. This will impact both the passing game and the run game. What happened to the humongous JC OL recruits they were hyping before camp opened?

It's looking more and more like we're in for another season of disappointment.

The Utes have their best recruiting class in Ute history this year. They will be fine.

The Utes will be fine; if Wynn can't go it's merely an opportunity for Wilson to shine. Haters hate on, but at the end of the day Utah will pound BYU into the ground; just like last year. 54-10 = Check Mate!

Springville, UT

"They will be fine." Well maybe 'they' will be fine but without a QB it's going to be very difficult for the rest of the team.

It looks like you're not in the majority with your optimism, several Ute fans expressing some concern.

It's another Ute 'drama' unfolding, just like last year.

East Salt Lake City, Utah

Now we will really see if Utah has depth at QB or not. If Wynn can't go I rather see Wilson. I can't see Wilson playing any worse than Hays did last year.

I say sit out Wynn for the first three games regardless. With our defense and running game, if Utah can't win with Wilson against NC, Utah State, and BYU then we won't be doing much in the PAC-12 this year.

What makes you think U can beat Utah State and BYU even with Wynn?

The false bravado of the kids on the hill is laughable.

"We're already starting to hear rubblings from RES that Wilson could replace Wynn sooner than later. In fact, it wouldn't be a bit surprising to see Wilson getting significant playing time in Utah's opening game.

Wynn's throwing shoulder still isn't back to where it was before surgery and he still can't throw the deep ball with any velocity, making deep outs extremely risky."

When will Whittingham stop playing games and realize that the public isn't buying his "just precautionary" song and dance anymore?

Alpine, UT

Better stick with Wynn; U couldn't even beat Colorado without him.

"Wynn is entrenched as the starter despite not throwing the ball since Wednesday for precautionary reasons because of arm soreness. Whittingham said Wynn, who is healthy after shoulder surgery last fall, has been throwing fast balls throughout camp to get more zip on the ball and just needs to give his arm a little rest."

Wynn needs "a little rest".

Looks like another disappointing season coming up for utah.

@ scott

Worry about beating Utah first before you start worry about Utah beating Colorado.

Mapleton, Utah

Uh....I think you have to beat Colorado at home before you start dreaming about beating USC at home. Then again, can't beat TCU at home. Can't beat BYU at home, (unless some miracle comes up from the underground to disrupt the outcome) and the list goes on....

But then, go ahead dream on....

Your nightmares will begin in earnest mid-September.

How about the Northern Colorado game! What..........
