Nice way to get votes. We already hold the world record for education funding.

The UAW got their bailout money but the teacher’s union didn’t and Obama is trying to make it up to them!

Yes by all means lets throw more money into education and right down the drain!

Where does Obama want to send it? To Los Angeles where the drop out rate is approaching 60 PERCENT?

The Los Angles Schools have spent 20 Billion dollars the last few years building new buildings some of which sit totally empty and totally new!

While 20 Billion has been blown on needless buildings the school population has dropped from 763,000 to 650,000 but the number of teachers has grown. More teachers in LA seems to equate to more failure!

It's not the pay either as LA teachers are the 2nd highest paid in the country!

So where is Obama going to send this bribe money? To a failed system covering a failed city?

LA county has 2 million illegal immigrants. Now you know where your tax dollars are going. Thank You to all the American Citizens subsidizing a Failed President's Failed Policies supporting LA.

Government(Taxed from People) Money turns cities into sewers: LA, Chicago, Philadelphia, Detroit ect. Getting off the government dole is good for people and good for cities! Federal Dollars equal a LOSS of FREEDOM! Restore American Pride!

How about the lay-offs of coal miners, and oil drillers?

How about all the jobs that would have been created with the Canadian oil pipeline? Private enterprise would have funded it?

We don't need more money for education when we already know it is ending up on priviledged pockets of adminstrators or union bosses at the expense of the children. I'm tired of the call for more money as the solution to all problems. What a cheap solution that only creates more problems.

I think we should give everyone a voucher and do away with public education and let the marketplace control education. I am sure that people will open schools by the droves to serve special education students, those juveniles with criminal records, those students who don't attend schools, it will be awesome. If we get the union out of the way then every student will want to go school and be the best that they can be, and our test scores will be the best in the world.

Vouchers is the answer to this problem because it is the republican solution to every problem, and it has worked well for us, because remember a poor person never gave you a job, and the cause of all our economic woes is the government and its insidious regulations. The Wall Street mess and current economic problems in no way shape or form are related to personal or corporate greed. Vouchers and eliminate all regulations that way the rich people will be free to make sure that we have a strong middle class, because they are not concerned with profits, only creating a strong middle class.

Conservatives believe that the government can't give the people anything they don't take from the people.

Rifleman,

Conservatives realize that government has a purpose and a place in an orderly society. Conservatives believe that we have certain responsibilities to make this a better country and yes they require taxes. Conservatives realize that its not always about money, its about giving people a hand up, its about having principles and values, its about planting shade trees you will never sit under.

Republicans believe that everything is a financial deal. Republicans believe that life is about the accumulation of money and possessions. Republicans believe that anybody who thinks that people that benefited the most in this great country could pay a little more is practicing class warfare. Republicans believe that the government is evil, yet they use it to benefit themselves financially. Most importantly republicans believe it is ok to belittle other people and their beliefs, but it is not ok for others to belittle them. Republicans believe in demonizing anyone who disagrees with them.

Republicans used to be conservatives. I am a still a conservative, but the republican worship of money has caused the republican party to leave me, not me leave them.
