Are the taxpayers getting a return on any of these white elephant money hogs yet? Or are we still being taxed and bonded as if the olympics are still in progress?
Most cities when they build these venues they do it on public land and with temporary structures so its a one time cost to taxpayers, but not in Utah, we are still paying for bonded Olympic taxation, a legacy of Romney and the state Olympic committee that should have been disbanded back in 2002, 10 years ago. I don't think Utah tax payers should still be paying for these Olympic buildings and losing money everyday to keep them open and in operation for a dozen Olympic hopefuls.
Why is our governmnet insistent on taxes to fund these venues during economic hard times when government should be downsizing and stop wasting money on pork projects?
And the government told us they made money but not enough to sustain Olympic structures indefinitely. They should have all been sold or dismantled after the games and Utah is scamming us all with all this hogwash and misinformation. We are not obligated to contiue and waste our taxes for a few people.
