Here is what the prayer should say:

"Dear Heavenly Father, please protect us from the flipping and flopping of Brother Romney and from the greed and deceit practiced by so many of his Republican brethren. And, Father, please do all things possible to see that our President, Barack Obama, is elected once again to lead this great nation out of the dismal pit into his predecessor in the White House tossed us."

This is the problem with factions in the Republican party. They worry about stuff like this vs. solving problems and producing a platform that will move the country forward on jobs, healthcare, infrastructure, and foreign policy.

One of Mitt's sons or another family member would be great. some attendees would be disappointed however given Mormons listen to the Holy Spirit when praying and He tells them what to pray for (that is the theory anyway) rather than the person reading from a polically correct set of notes.

Is this really newsworthy? Is this what Republicans are truly worried about?

Since the GOP convention is being held in Florida, I think both Joel McKinnon and his wife (Rebecca?) of Orlando should be considered. Joel was the missionary companion of Mitt Romney when Romney took over as head of the France Mission after the death of the mission president's wife, and his wife is the daughter of Paula Hawkins, who was elected US Senator from Florida in 1980. There is a personal tie to Romney and a tie to Florida Republicans. I believe they have been active in politics there.
