Bigotry seems to be an American pastime.

In my view bigotry is not an American tradition, its sadly a tradition worldwide through all recorded history. I do agree that all people should be tolerant of individual beliefs and act accordingly however there will alway be deranged and sick minds in society.

A bigot is "a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices". One bigot condemns another bigot while excusing his own bigotry. Most of us are bigots when you get right down to it.
