Byu 10 Utah 32. If byu beats Utah I won't post on a byu article all year. Made the same comment last two years. If byu gets past weber I will admit you have the third best team in the state

Honest question for byu fans, do you really see any better than 1-3 against Utah, Boise, notre dame, and Georgia tech? All joking aside I don't see any chance byu gets more than one and my honest bet is 0-4. Look how you have done against athletic teams like Utah, Texas, tcu, Florida state the

Chris B I really do think BYU could go 4-0 actually. Notice I say could. Not will. They could go 0-4 and 4-0. They have the ability but I am reasonable as well. Looking forward to a great year! Maybe I'm optimistic, but it's way more fun than being a pessimist and ragging on other teams. I always BYU to beat the U. But i can wish them luck everywhere else. Why all the hatred? We fans can actually try and be civil with each other...

Fair question Chris. If your question was: "do you really see any better than 1-3 against Oregon, Alabama, South Carolina and Arkansas?" The honest response would be no. However, according to pre-season polls, all five teams you are comparing are ranked between 20 and 35. So unbiased experts currently consider these teams similarly capable. After a fair analysis of this year's team (particularly the defense), it would not be unreasonable for one to predict that BYU will perform better than 1-3. I do not anticipate BYU will go undefeated this season, but these games are not like BYU playing #1 OU where BYU was a unanimous underdog. These should be good competitive games, and I am excited to watch them compete.

Chris B, I'm with byufan1993 and Floyd Johnson. I do not think it out of the realm of possibility to go 4-0, but it is unlikely. I think each of those teams could beat each other on a given night. I say 2-2. Every game week I will cheer for the team as if they're going to win. For me, it's no fun to cheer as a pessimist. If they drop a couple I'll be disheartened for a couple hours and then start prepping for the next week. In the event they succeed greatly, I'll be extremely excited, and in the event they flounder and the season implodes, I'll still be a loyal fan. Why? Because my heart is behind them either way. Thank you for the honest question.

I see a couple ways they could go. 0-4. 4-0. 1-3. 3-1. 2-2. I feel good and confident that it will be one of those.

A lot of beating around the bush and weak predictions from byu fans. But hey, at leat you're not being typical byu fans and saying you think the team will go undefeated.

Again -

Byu 1-3(at best) against utah, boise, notre dame, and Georgia Tech

Utah 32
byu 10
Riley 4 turnovers

Mark it down. I"ll be reminding you my predictions for the next several weeks.

Fine while being optimistic and reasonable I'm going to say 3-1. BYU will lose to Boise State and beat the other 3. We have a solid D that is going to really bug Notre Dame and their whoever their starting quarterback is. Our guys will be ready to take on Utah. Riley Nelson - 3 touchdowns, mark it down. These are my predictions. If I'm wrong I'll take it. 4-0 isn't bad either ;) haha, but really i do see BYU being much better this year and they held their own with some great teams last year, they just lacked leadership to finish the games. We definitely have that now!

Best of luck to the U in all their games except for 1. Really i do mean that.

Go COUGARS!!!

On the four tough road games against Utah, BSU, ND and GaTech, my prediction is 3-1 but only if Nelson stays health. Anything can happen. BSU lost Kellen Moore, and ND will be overly confident because it trounced another team from Utah last year.

Ute posters love to make comments about BYU's lack of athletes and how they struggle against athletic teams, but don't give credit to the recent strides BYU is making in that area. The loss to TCU last year was due to botched special teams and Riley panicking in blue-zone situations---not lack of athleticism. You can't look at Hoffman, Apo, Holt/Matthews, Alisa, Pritchard, Nelson, Kaveinga, KVN, Ogletree, Hadley, the D-line, and the secondary (Sampson, Johnson, etc.) and claim this BYU team is not athletic.

We have so much depth that we could win most conferences playing our second string.

BTW - Look at Broncos face in the picture, did he just step in something?

I think 2-2 is realistic, and I pick BYU to upset Utah.

And Chris B, I'll bet the farm you won't keep to your pledge to disappear if BYU does better than 1-3. You love to hate the Cougs, and because of you and your ilk, I love to hate Utah. Now that Utah is in the PAC12 and has to play the Dawgs, it is sweet to see Utah get beaten. In Seattle this year.

So my prediction: Utah loses 4 PAC12 games this year. If I'm wrong, I promise not to post on at Ute board this year. Or ever, for that matter. Who cares about Utah, really? Not me.

The object of playing good teams is to win. The goal is to go 4-0 against Utah, Boise State, Notre Dame.

The overall goal is to win every game on the schedule. That is true for BYU and almost every other team out there. Let us all know if you think that is not a goal for the Utes.

I can assure you Coach K thinks his team can win every game this year. He is not arrogant, but hopeful and sets a high goal.

I have never commented on an article before, mainly because I find the bantering between fans very humorous. However I greatly enjoyed how civil people were on this thread in discussing the facts, giving credit to both Utah and BYU for the strengths they have, and properly discussing each team's weakness. When both teams are good, college football in Utah is as good as it gets. Go Cougars, Go Utes, Go Aggies, Go College football.

It's true that ND and Boise are not the teams they used to be (even last year for Boise). GT and Utah are solid teams but neither will be heavily favored against BYU. And on that note, it is very possible that BYU will be favored in one or more of those games. That being said, even if BYU goes 2-2 I will be impressed.
