Religious expression can't be infringed.

Cool.

Now let's see if they really honor that....

You can pray anytime and anywhere that you want.

It would be virtually impossible to stop you.

This amendment is so that people can make it a public spectacle.

Is that what religion and prayer are about? I dont get it.

What if someone's religious belief is that it is necessary to shout loudly during all other religion's prayers?

Will that religious belief be upheld?

Well I can't wait to hear how they tollerate muslims wailing on loudspeakers 5 times a day. Now that would be "the right to pray". Or not really what they had in mind?

yet another solution looking for a problem. the rights outlined in the amendment where already protected under the federal constitution. this was nothing more the political pandering at its worst.

Many Muslim students and teachers are part of my school system. At certain times of the day they quietly move to some isolated areas in the school building and pray.

We also have some Christian teachers who meet before school starts to pray together. I have been invited but politely declined.

That is freedom of religion.

Now, If you want to include mandatory prayer in the school. Well, that is forcing religion on people and that cannot, should not and will not be tolerated, because, that would constitute a threat to freedom of religion. As pointed by other readers, what prayer system would you protect.

A last point, I can assure you that many students pray fervently in their hearts when they need to take a test and didn't study. No school denies them that privilege.
