This is great news for the Jazz organization. Although I wish him well,
O'Conner had a view of the NBA that is outdated and does not fit well with
the changes the NBA is going through both now and in the future. Recent
acquisitions will not help the Jazz meet the needs of the future. A new GM
hopefully will help the Jazz develop future talent that will be competitive with
the rest of the NBA. I applaud the Jazz for hopefully looking toward the future.
This is the worst news I have heard in a long time. The man is a genius, the
Billy Bean of the NBA, and he never received enough appreciation for it. I can
only hope his successor has half the talent as O'Connor.
IMO, I hope he less say over personnel, this would be a plus for the Utah Jazz.
I hope that KOC continues to have at least equal input with the rest of the Jazz
management team regarding the assessment of talent. I've understood most of
his decisions over the years and I've liked most of them, too.
