Just when we will need him back...besides Hansen will never pay quarterback for Utah...I believe Coach Whit sees other potential in him, one that would capitalize on his great athletic skills. Heal quickly! The Ute Nation will looks forward to cheering you on.
Good luck with the surgery, recovery and the mission.
Good luck Chase! You will always be welcome at the U. Best wishes for your recovery.
Great player, great decision, best of luck!
Great player. From a die hard BYU fan, good luck with the rehab and the mission. I watched you play a few times in HS, I think you will be a great addition to the Utes in 2015.
Chase, we were looking forward to seeing you this fall. We look forward to seeing you play a lot in 2015. Good luck on your mission.
Bad luck for Hansen. The U will lose patience waiting for him to get back into shape after his mission and he'll end up somewhere else, the U won't have time to wait for him with big PAC pressure.
Good luck with your surgery and on your mission. You will be welcomed with open arms coming back in 2015. Coming back in December or January will be perfect too, plenty of time to get back in shape.
Get better and enjoy your mission.
Best of luck on the mission and with the rehab. Shoulder rehab isn't easy so be ready for some pain! It will be interesting to see where you want to play upon your return.
@ Joe Schmoe,
If he de-commits in '13, '14 can be his year off and then he can back up Tanner Mangum in '15,'16, '17, & '18.
We don't need Hansen. My boy Wynn is durable and will last the whole season. I know how hard he has worked in the off season. In fact, while most players are sitting around being lazy, Jordan Wynn was out throwing footballs. I noticed him once throwing out by an orange van out in an open field. Great arm with that amazing side arm delivery. With that, there really was no need for Chase for now.
Who cares??
@J W
Wishful thinking on your part. Do you really think that Hansen would give up the chance to play in the Rose Bowl, or even the National Championship game, for the uncertainty of playing an independent schedule with no conference championship at stake, and with a WAC-like November schedule? As it stands, with one loss, BYU is out of contention for the National Championship game. In fact, even with a perfect season, it will still be hard to reach the title game. The Poinsettia Bowl is realistically the ceiling for BYU. For the Utes the opportunities are much higher. And this leads to greater exposure for the individual players who desire to play in the NFL.
BYU fans need to accept the fact that they are no longer in the same league as Utah, both literally and figuratively.
Who here thinks GO Utes is not a Utah fan? Wolf in sheepskin clothing?
@ Go Red
I'm ok with accepting that Utah is in the PAC 12 and BYU is not. I also admit I was silent on this news story until you started the usual Cougar Bashing.....a pity you lowered yourself to that and then dragged me into it, too.
You need to accept that Utah is likely on the bottom of the PAC 12 and a Rose Bowl berth for the Utes is just a dream...(shades of Arizona and Arizona State, along with Washington State)...like the dream of getting into the inagural PAC 12 Championship Game last year when the schedule was greased and they botched it because they lost to their new rival---Colorado..at home at that!
See, we both have to eat a little crow.
toosmartforyou............Any given team can have an off night on any given night. So Utah lost to Colorado by 3 points, big deal. How did it feel to lose by 44 points on your home field to that same team that got beat by Colorado?
@ Go Red
BYU is the only school in Utah who ever goes to National Championship games.
You really think Utah has a chance to play for a National Championship? I'm sad for you. Come on down to Provo, we have a trophy. We'll share ours with you.
J W revised history: BYU is the only school in Utah who ever goes to National Championship games
After the bowl season a group of writers got together and gave a trophy to BYU, but BYU did NOT play in a national championship game. Such a game did not exist until 1998 with the formation of the BCS. BYU is not familiar with the BCS, though 47 other schools have played in BCS bowl games.
@soonerute
And utah is not familiar with national championship games or national championships period. BYU of course know's all about national championships, they won one.
SoonerUte just revisited history. His conclusion: BYU got the trophy.
