If there is a god (or God) one might deduce from the evidence that She's a brilliant manic-depressive physicist with the imp of perverse and multiple-personality disorder. Perhaps with no knowledge or interest in planet Earth or Homo Sapiens. Is there anything in Earth or human history or the cosmos inconsistent with such a god?

Shelema,

For those who believe, the answer to your question is Christ.

But the point of the article is that science and religion can coexist peacefully and well. Though I am no scientist, that has been my experience. It also mirrors the views of several scientists I have known.

For many of us, the ever expanding views of science induce wonder and appreciation for what we consider to be God's creation. Discovery of the universe and its history is a kind of archaeology revealing God's work in the deep past.

Personally, I take in every science show I can. It may be an overstatement to say they build my faith. But they do increase my respect and admiration for both God and the universe he created "worlds without end".

It's really going to be difficult to device an experiment to test this.
