Have all the respect in the world for Hays. I think he's displayed that he is the type of team player that would be a good fit as a coach an mentor in the future.
"Former Utes starting QB Jon Hays isn't too good to wait"
Understatement of the year. The Utes are crossing their fingers that Wynn can stay healthy for the entire season because nobody wants to have to rely on Hays.
You have to respect the drive and resilience. At worst he gets his education paid for and can look back on a winning record as a QB in major football program. He doesn't have the talent level of the other three quarterbacks, but he also engineered a win in a bowl game against Georgia Tech.
A mature individual and a good team player--Hays deserves my respect.
He is a Ute!
You're a class act Jon.
We're lucky to have you.
For a guy that's been thrown under the bus by many Ute fans and media, multiple times, I liked the kid.
Standby Jon, odds are you will be needed again.
I have been so impressed by Hays. He was put in a tough spot last year, and relished it. He shows up, does his job, supports the team, is prepared rather or not he is called upon. Hays is positive when he struggles or gets criticized. He helped save Utah's season last year, and I for one am grateful to him for it.
Indeed, as Sammyg put it, you may be called upon again Mr. Hays.
Much appreciation from this Ute Jon!
Keep your head up and in the game, good things will happen for you.

And who knows better than you about being thrown under bus?
Did the troll ever get back to you over your cloying little plea for his approval?
I had a chance to speak with Hays father at a football camp in California this summer - same as the son, a total class act. Great to have the Hays as part of Ute football!
For all of the degrading comments piled on to this kid by utah "fans", stuff like "D2 qb" and other denigration, I think he has behaved with a lot of class. Without him utah might not have won a sinlge pac12 game last year, and they almost didn't anyway. utah "fans" should be kissing this guys feet.
