This is pretty funny stuff - liberals attempt to exercise their usual threats and intimidation against Chick-Fil-A and Chick-Fil-A has a record sales day!! Tells where the 'real' heart of America is. Another swing and a miss lib's!!!
@patriot
"Tells where the 'real' heart of America is. "
Awaiting surgery to deal with coronary artery blockage.
I was one of thousands whom went to my local Chick Fil A....i agree makes me giggle to think the liberals believe their words make an impact...well in fact their words did make an impact...an impact that brought many to show the support of family values and support of Chick Fil A's CEO. Thank you liberals for letting us show YOU that we are strong and support right. As for those whom came in drag, was it halloween ? Friday I will go again to show my support. Loves the charbroiled chicken sandwich and lemonade !!
This has shown the true colors of the gay marriage issue. It is not about civil rights. Never has been and never will be. This is an issue about Freedom of Speech and Religion. As soon as gay marriage is legal you will not be allowed to voice your opposition and you will be labeled as a "Hater" or a "Bigot". If you do not go along with gay marriage you freedoms and liberty will be taken away just as the Mayors’ of Boston and Chicago are trying to do to Chick-fil-A.
It was hilarious to see hundreds of people in the store eating, waiting in line or at the drive-thru, and yet just a handful of people out protesting. Next time a gay decides to tell a non-supporter that he's on the wrong side, I hope they'll think of yesterday. People will support same-sex marriage silently because of some misguided sense of fairness but when it comes down to putting your money where your mouth is, we know clearly which side has more support.
Evolution of the American protest.
1963: Ride a bus to Washington DC. Join the March On Washington For Jobs And Freedom with 200,000 fellow civil rights supporters. Listen to a speech by Dr. King on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.
2012: Log off Facebook. Waddle over to Chick-Fil-A. Buy a chicken sandwich.
I waited 55 minutes in the drive-thru in Rome,GA. It was a dress rehearsal for November. We cannot have another 4 years of Obama!
markusjbear has an excellent point. If expressing your belief about homosexuality can cause mayors of major cities to threaten your business, then we really do have to worry about our rights if gay marriage is made legal. For most of us the concern is that our churches will be forced to perform gay marriages. This is a perfect example that we really do have to worry about our rights being trampled if we don't hold on to them. I have even more reason now to fight legalizing gay marriage.
Thanks to the Inclusiveness/Diversity Police, I now know a lot more about Chick-Fil-A than I knew a week or ten days ago!
- Closed on Sunday.
- The Chick-Fil-A Bowl is the only post-season football game that begins with an invocation.
- Founder believes in traditional marriage, and in giving due respect to God.
- The employees "treat every person with honor, dignity and respect — regardless of their belief, race, creed, sexual orientation or gender."
As a Christian, this sounds like the type of establishment I want to patronize! Thank you, Diversity Police!
(There's only one CFA "Express" outlet in Boise - in the Boise State Student Union Building. It was PACKED yesterday, and I didn't have time to spare. But 4 new restaurants are under construction - I'm looking forward to patronizing them, even though I'm a "beef man"!!)
This highlights an interesting difference between the two sides of the "cultural divide". On Wednesday, a large number of people flocked to Chik-Fil-A restaurants. On Friday, a number of the "other side" are preparing to go to the same place. The big difference? On Wednesday, the people who showed up were either hungry or making a quiet statement. On Friday, the people who show up will do so on purpose to engage in activity (for example, the threatened "kiss-in") that they KNOW is offensive to the people who own the establishment and to the people who work there. And the people who work there will be required to "treat every person with honor, dignity and respect -- regardless of their belief, race, creed, sexual orientation or gender." I sure wish the people who are planning to show up on Friday believed that same thing. Obviously, they don't.
There is also an interesting difference between opposition to gay marriage and hatred/mistreatment of gays. The former is a political and/or religious position -- something not only protected but encouraged by our Constitution. The latter is bigotry -- and activities arising from it are often illegal. However, people like Dan Cathy who state the former are constantly accused of the latter -- with no evidence to support the accusation.
I continue to hope that equal rights can be achieved without tearing down an institution (marriage) that is sacred to most religious Americans. Rather than the very contentious battle that exists today, maybe we should be searching for a different methodology for achieving equal rights?
atl134,
You got a good laugh with that one, but I'd rather have heart problems instead of being convinced I somehow magically don't have control over my intimate activities and what I believe in. Ideally, one wouldn't subscribe to either- but out of my options, supporting Chick-fil-A isn't too bad right now.
I think the Appreciators should eat Chick-fil-A junk food every day, 3 meals a day. Drink the shakes. Gobble the waffle fries. Then, after a few months, look in the mirror. Your outsides will finally look like your insides.
We've appointed a fast food outfit the head of the angry mob. Yes, they're entitled to speak. But our freedoms go far beyond those prescribed by religion.
Never having eaten at Chick-fil-A, I can't comment on their quality. But when a city government tells me where not to eat, they have exceeded their purpose. George Orwell would have loved it.
@rpatriot
right because those TWO mayors represent all liberals, oh except maybe all the lib posters that have condemned their actions and the ACLU that stepped forward to represent Cathy.
@Jens Bloomquist
I find your reasoning that when people you agree with speak out they are just making a "quite statement," but when those that you do not agree with speak out they are just trying to be offensive and threatening a lacking in self awareness.
To everyone who applauded those who stood in line at Chic Fil A. I would like to thank you for supporting the pro gay companies that you paid for with your meal. While Chic Fil A had a boost in sales for 1 day, each of the pro gay companies who's products are either used or sold in this place are also making a profit. Examples if you need them, Coke a Cola, Visa, MasterCard or American Express, Microsoft, Google or Apple operating systems (you know the pictures you took on your cell phones)and if you drove a Toyota, Chrysler, Ford, or General Motors car to get there. All of these companies are Pro Gay support, so again thanks, keep up the good work.
@barkforsark
right because everyone knows that provo is representative of the country as a whole.
We have the most generous government in history, and now every group of people are trying to find entitlements, by playing the bigot card.
This is all about qualifying for some kind of handout, not the unfairness of marriage.
Wish I'm wrong, but we're transforming into a nation of beggars, and whiners. Just immature, and pathetic.
I have said it before and I will say it again, the gay and lesbian movement has NOTHING whatsoever to do with civil rights, it is about the acquisition of power and then to use that power to destroy marriage. Do not be deceived, all they need is a foot in the door and then it will break wide open and you will see churches forced to marry gays or lose all tax benefits etc. I am so happy about Chick fil A, I have always supported them and I will continue to support them over and over again especially now. I love it!!!
