So, over a half million people were without electricity. The rest never had any!
Solar anyone? Individually generated electricity from solar removes some of the strain from the grid during peak hours and could provide power during black outs. Germany, Japan and China are going solar (all for different reasons). Solar is not a complete solution, but part of a mix of energy sources used to solve power needs. As fossil fuels become more expensive and as air becomes more polluted, we will need to use even more Renewable Energy Resources here in the USA. The sooner we take this challenge seriously, the better. Some states are all ready taking the steps needed especially California, Massachusetts, Colorado, Arizona and Hawaii. Utah is way behind. With our great solar resource (lots of sun and high elevation) we should be leading the nation in RE into the future. We are missing a golden opportunity.
