Three games? Didn't the DUI kid last year only get 1 game? I'm guessing Bleache must have killed at least a few people to warrant 3 games from Whittingham.
He's not really needed in those first 3 scrimmages. Had he started, he would have sat most of the 2nd half anyway.
It'll be a good rest for a great player.
Don't really need him until PAC 12 play begins.
Brian was seen in the company of Max Hall and Reno Mahe thus the severity of the suspension.
The USC game is what matters...........the first 3 clowns that Utah plays..........the Ute "MUSS" could beat them by 21+ points easily. I can't believe that Blechen made such a mistake? What a bone head!
@SoonerUte
That comment is hilarious! Not really true, but hilarious! That is the kind of confidence I love in a fan. Personally I think we will need all the help we can get against BYU. I hope not, but his presence will likely be felt.
I hate to see that much talent sidelined for 3 games.
What does it take to be suspended from Utah football - armed robbery? No wait - not even that is serious enough.
Let the kid play. It could not have been that serious of an infraction, for Pete's sake he's a Ute football player.
I (we?) don't want to hear any excuses, especially the whiny kind like after Colorado.
EdGrady:
He must have been caught holding hands with a girl.
Oh wait.... No, that'll only get you suspended 3 games down there in Provostan.
Maybe it was related to some off-campus affair...like fighting or something...
"He's not really needed in those first 3 scrimmages. Had he started, he would have sat most of the 2nd half anyway."
Another made-to-order whiney excuse for the Utes.
Can't wait to see which one the kids on the hill will break out first - new OC, injury-plagued QB, or key defensive starter sidelined.

"I (we?) don't want to hear any excuses, especially the whiny kind like after Colorado"
You mean like after the 54-10 pasting your boys took after they quit halfway through the 3rd quarter?
or
After every BCS conference passed your Cougars by?
or
After your Heisman candidate, national champion winning quarterback who announced his arrival in front of gleeful Cougar "fan" at Iggy's decided to transfer?
or............
Blechen was caught buying gasoline in Utah County.......hence his suspension.
Man, I would have really loved to have seen him take Nelson's head off.
Oh well, Star will just have to crush him. Either way, a W in all 3 games.
Go Utes!

sammyg is probably thinking more like the whiney excuses we heard after
4th-and-18,
0-27 versus UNLV,
Harline is still open,
George is still running
the Colorado(3-10) meltdown
and
8th in 2011
Re: anti BCS
Still beats being an Independent WACer
@ Mt Oly
Yea, it beats it all the way into the season-ending rankings of the top 25. Where'd U finish?
I hope he learns from the suspension and comes out fired up against ASU.
@anti
8th in 2011? Why do you keep parroting false claims? Isn't that against the honor code or something?
Here's some that disagree with you:
"Utah's first season in the Pac-12 went well, thanks to a defense that led the conference in points allowed and finished in the top three in total defense, rush defense and pass efficiency defense. " -- Mike Huguenin (Yahoo Sports)
"Still, the initial verdict is fairly positive. While the grind of Pac-12 play is far different than the Mountain West Conference, it's clear that Utah can compete in the Pac-12. They figure to be a long-term fixture in the South Division race." -- Ted Miller (ESPN)
I suspect that UCLA, ASU, Arizona, Colorado and of course UCLA are also long-term fixtures in the Southern Division. So???
As far a Blechen I wish him well.

Tied for 6th place. There, does that fell better?
Does it really make a difference?
It still hurts... obviously a lot.
I sure hope Brian can get himself straitened out. He's too good to waste so much talent.
